Translation: Lee gets the #2 spot due to seniority
Due to knowing the offense. Not surprising.

Is the Rant really getting riled up before the Spring Game?

Nah...i'm cool. It's frickin' April btw. Seems like the tards are starting a little early this year.

WTF is wrong with some LSU fans? Seriously..
Do you have opinions or just like to bitch about posters? I for one, don't thin it's shocking Miles prefers the experienced players over anyone else at the QB position...regardless of talent.

I for one finding shocking that people really think a HC making millions of dollars, but under constant pressure to win or lose that high paying job really believe he would start lesser players because they are seniors.

Do you think Miles has an irrational preference for seniority over ability?
I don't see it that way. In the case of the QB position, at this point in the year it isn't unusual to see more experienced guys getting more reps.
I don't see it as an indictment on Miles' ability to pick the right guy for the job. Talent and experience are two things that must be considered equally when choosing who gets playing time.
Maybe, at this point in time, JJ has a better mix of talent/experience than the other guys on the roster.
If Mett's talent is indeed good enough to overcome his lack of experience then I think Miles will make the switch.
The expectation that ZM will be a starter when Spring Practice wraps up is borderline delusional. It isn't fair to him or to the coaching staff.

yes...and there just that...opinions. Some people here like to pretend they're on the coaching staff.

Just to note the context of the comment. Lazare of TigerBait specifically asked if Lee's time in the system is giving him an advantage over Mettenberger. It isn't like he just brought up the experience factor out of thin air.
Lazare: "....can you see that Jarrett's experience is there over Mettenberger....how are those two guys?"
Miles: "Well Mettenberger has a very strong arm, makes a lot of nice throws, and really is improving. I think Jarrett Lee has a very distinct advantage over the time he's been in the system and he throws the ball very well. I think Mettenberger has some time, he's taking advantage of his coaching, but I think currently it would be Jefferson and Lee then Mettenberger."

In this mornings ADVOCATE. He said that Mettenberger has a very srong arm and makes some very nice throws and is really improving. He also stated that Lee has a very distinct advantage over the time he's been in the system. He said that Lee throws the ball very well. He finished up by saying, "I think it's currently Jefferson and Lee and then Mettenberger."
In other words, Lee has had more time in Miles' offensive system than Mett.

I don't know why people get so bent out of shape when you state the truth, and what Miles actually said. It's obvious experience and versatility carry a lot of weight with Miles and will factor into who plays and when.

Ofcourse it does. Should it not? The arguments happen when people imply experience is the only factor.

It does weigh heavily in the choosing of personnel it seems. It's not the only thing, however. In the case of the QB's it will come down to versatility (running) and experience IMO.

You just repeated yourself.
I asked, should it not carry a lot of weight (experience and versatility)?

I have repeated this a lot in the past few days, doesn't seem to be sinking in.

Depends. Arbitrarily? No. Every coach has different criteria however.
People need to come to the conclusion that Miles is one of those coaches though.

No, I understand perfectly. I was just pointing out that I asked a question and instead of answering with your opinion, you simply repeated the previous statement.
So...are you going to go on record and officially say experience and versatility should not carry a lot of weight when determining a starting QB, or are you just going to continue repeating it ad nauseum under the guise of "just pointing out that's what Miles likes to do"?

It's not about the system, it's about execution. Did you see the seconsd half of the bama game or the Texas A&M game? Only people who don't know football want a new oc and a new system.
