Shop Ideas

Well, I'm about to start building a shop at my house and was wondering if anyone out there had any good ideas? I live on a good bit of land in the country and have a boat, tractor, mower, four wheelers, and plenty of tools.. I just need somewhere to keep my things out of the weather and an area where I can tinker around, skin deer, clean fish, etc.
I've thought about pouring a 40x50 slab and building the shop 30x40 with (2) 10ft drop sheds off the sides..
I'm just kind of looking for some cool ideas or suggestions.. Thanks!

I'd have a covered shooting bench provided I had enough land.

However big you get it, you'll want it a little bigger.
I'd recommend putting a lien off of it. That way will save you a little room inside to work. You can put a lot of shite out there that doesn't have to completely be out of the weather. Especially tractor implements, utility trailers, and stuff like that.
Lots of shelves.
I've seen a few with a corner section walled off and finished to make an office. Those are badass. Could have a nice TV, some mounts, a mini fridge, a good sound system, and a big window inside the shop so you can see all your toys. You can still use the top of it for light storage too.

Build a "loft" to store the stuff you seldom use or dont want to throw away. No matter what you build you will always want more space.

Good advice there.

personally I would make it as tall as I can since this will keep the heat off of you and give you extra storage while reducing cost pwer sqft (less concrete. I would also make the lean-to covered areas for 4 wheelers, tractors ext. with gravel instead of concrete to decrease cost. You can always pour extra later.

I'm not against some outside cover but if building something, i'd want to be able to keep everything locked up if give the option like this guy has.
Also, Outdoor shower!

shitter and a big sink. Lots of power for plugs and lights. Windows (ac unit), regular door and a big slide up door. Loft, shelves, workbench, and make room for a radio and tv. Fan space. and maybe a wood burning stove. frige for beer.

If tall enough, basketball hoop indoor.

Kegerator. I built mine a few years ago and there is no looking back.
I also gained 10lbs quickly.

I'd have 10-12 ft garage doors.

If you hunt or fish, I'd have a big arse stainless counter with a big sink too.

I might be getting a BIG arse Stainless Steal table from a recently closed down restaurant. This thing is like 7X7 and will have many dead animals cut up on it.
