Ha Lafayette is ten times the city of Baton Rouge. Have you ever heard of someone vactioning in BR, Nope. If BR did not have LSU or be the state's capital, that city would be nothing. shite I couldnt tell how often students from LSU would flee BR to come to LAfayette on the weekend. Our university prefers to be called UL (athletically) has nothing to do with us wanting to THE LOUISIANA team. It has more to do with the legislature over turning our name change in 1989, for no reason other than being butt hurt. We are the second largest university in the state and we should treated as such. No need for the mighty flagship LSU A&M @ BR to feel threatened

There are three approved names:
LSU
Louisiana State University
Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College - Baton Rouge
And again, here is the link from UL-Lafayette's OWN communications department on the approved and trademarked names for the school. NONE of which are UL.
