orginal version

They went back and changed all the ULL and Louisiana-lafayettes to UL and Louisiana and even went as far as editing PM ACTUAL QUOTE to say UL instead of ULL. Congrats on the good win, but yall just crack me up.

Sad enough to argue with me that they are a yearly legit contender in baseball...

Even though their official list of approved names does not include UL...

So you saying that ULL is not normally a legit ball club? That is a pretty naive statement. They are no powerhouse but have decent to good ball clubs most years.

There is a difference between "legit" or "decent" and "contender." ULL is not a "contender."

One trip, over a decade ago, does NOT warrant being labeled a yearly legit contender. Sure they make some noise in their conference & get the occasional BIG win over LSU but I think you may be stretching it a bit with the yearly legit contender tag.

They've won 4 times since 2000. 4 times in 11 years.

That's about once every three years.

That's not an occasion. People see their in-laws once or twice a year. That's occasionally.

ULL seldomly gets a Big W over LSU.

I'm tired of their UL BS. The Louisiana Legislature gave them SPECIFIC rules to operate under if they wanted to use that University of Louisiana Name.

You don't see ULM doing anything like this.

I want someone in the Legislature to cane their @sses for it.

Those sorry f#cks should get treated like sassy-mouthed, red-headed stepchildren. I get fired up anytime I see their UL sh!t without the proper "Lafayette" logo on there, as per the state's mandate.

I wish Jindal or someone would nail their @sses for it.

They prefer being called Louisiana instead of an acronym I guess. I really don't blame them.

"We had a good practice yesterday, and we were ready for this game," said LSU coach Paul Mainieri, "but UL just completely outplayed us. They strung together the hits they needed in that big fifth inning, and our hitting was just too sporadic. Give credit to UL - they have a very good club and they played very well tonight.

Changing Mainieri's actual quote is intentionally misquoting him. Saying he said something he DID NOT say.

That's very, very unethical.

Not that he cares, but someone from LSU could raise serious hell about that. I know it's only ULL to UL, but the fact remains he was intentionally misquoted.

Not quotes. Quotes are never meant to be changed.

What they did was wrong.

If you think actual quotes are meant to be edited, then you aren't much of a journalist.

What came out of Manieiri's mouth was "ULL". To change it to "UL" is misquoting him. You can not even remotely argue that.

He did not say, NOR WOULD HE EVER SAY "UL".

misconception. It's completely acceptable to change the spelling of words in a quote transcripted from someone else. They're considering this to be a misspelling of their school's acronym.

This isn't unethical at all......but I admit that this is one giant from them to you though.

So you are really gonna split hairs about the word occasional v/s seldomly?

oc·ca·sion·al/?'kaZH?nl/Adjective
1. Occurring, appearing, or done infrequently and irregularly.

sel·dom Adjective /'seld?m/
Synonyms: rarely, infrequently, occasionally 1.Not common; infrequent

Point is, calling ulala a legit contender in baseball is silly regardless of their occasional & seldom wins against the big boys of LSU.

Congratulations to the ragin cajuns. They have a good ball club and got a big win. They are not Louisiana, that is a state and not a university.
