Saw Otis with Oysters on WFDT . . . I'm out of practice with the old fashion oyster opening and cringe when I think of the knife puncture pain. Anything to these "nutcracker" looking openers? Is any one better than others?

just opened 300 with some friends to grill tomorrow. i had access to a "nutcracker" but found a good ole fashion knife worked probably 3x as fast. i did use the nutcracker for those pesky ones.

hope you guys realize that there are very few locales where oysters are fresh and aubundant enough to buy by the sack and shuck yourself....just one of the things that makes LA so unique....don't take it for granted....

I put a welding glove on my left hand and use a knife. I popped a sack full yesterday. Berled crawfish, raw and chargrilled oysters. And apparently a few too many cold pops..
