He may have a few gimmick plays, but since when has having a passing game made you a gimmick offense? His high numbered offenses were based on scoring quickly through lots of passing. With the WRs we have and the potential QB we have this should be awesome. He does not run the spread option. He runs an air raid, pass first spread with a pocket QB.

Yeah, well how often does the "air raid" win championships? I'm just saying he was in the big 12. We put up big numbers v aTm.

Can't think of one in the last 10 years...

Florida did the run and shoot back in the mid 90's...

With Chavis running our D and Leach handling the touchdowns LSU would be hoisting another crystal ball within the next two years. I have very little doubt about it.

How do you see a personality like mike leach interacting with les miles when it comes to playcalling and scheme?

I think as a previous poster said oil and water, but conflict isn't always bad, some good creative things often come from conflict, plus miles would be perfect headspokeman for the internal conflicts, he gets paid for something besides recruiting.

I don't believe people realize how caustic this could become.

Still don't seem to get it do you?

Leach's offense are well known to score quickly and is very reliant on the pass. It is not a ball control offense where we can get the defense a rest. Our defense could wear down in the 2nd half and it could cost us some games.

Every week will be a near track meet if we got Leach.

And Btw his offenses were not that good against SEC teams (Alabama 2005) (Ole Miss 2008).

I think he runs a cool offense and is a very cool person but he doesn't fit with what Les wants to do.

I don't think you're being honest

Here's a question: how'd he do against SEC teams with his wild offense?

Yeah, think it goes counter to what Les wants to do. Isn't going to happen. Pipe dream.

Problem is our defense would be on the field a lot and people would start bitching about our defensive rankings being in the 20's or 30's and would start wanting chavis fired.

But i am being honest. The guy had inferior talent at TT.

I dont think youre being honest.

And for the other guy, our D wouldn't 'wear out'. The other team wouldnt be able to score enough td's fast enough with chavis defense.

Yeah. People always want something to complain about. I just dont see much complaining happening if we are winning conference titles and crystal balls.

Did you watch the defense this year?

They wore down at the end of many games

UNC comes to mind

Yes, I did. If I remember right our defense was very good at keeping the other team out of the end zone in the first half. So I guess our D will be tired before the game starts from all those practices against Leach's O. You see when a D has a >14 point lead they tend to play more relaxed. Now the other team now has to play aggressive with more passes. This is our chance to blitz more because our pass rushing DE, CB's and Safety's are our strength on D. Are you still blind?

A Leach offense will get Mettenberger killed by the Bama pass rush - you drop back 40 times against Saban he will make you pay
