i really believe Miles is going Gonzo and getting a QB coach...It makes the most sense. Gonzo offers instant credibility. He is the Florida man for recruiting and has great upside. He is young and inexperienced, but if we hire a big name, gonzo may jump ship. Recruiting is where its at.

BTW, id rather have a sick OC like Green Bay Packers QB coach Tom Clements, but can he recruit??? I don't remember Crowton bring in any top recruits...

What do you guys think?

No, he doesn't. He has no experience as an OC.

I doubt it. But if it were to happen, I think LSU would survive.

No, it does not.

Huh?

He did do well there.

He is young and inexperienced

And how does that match with offering instant credibility?

Who did he get this year? i honestly don't know who he was responsible for.

But what about:

I'm too confused now.

That this is in no way, shape, or form a new OC topic.

Of the serious candidates I've heard, he offers the least credibility.

I'm not saying I don't think Billy G would do a great job but your post is way off.

With LSU just needing a great playcalling OC to compete for a NC, I just don't see the logic in promoting a guy that has never been a playcalling OC.

Great potential...but potential is not the criteria for LSU's next OC.

My gut tells me this, also.

1.) Gonzo came here in a lateral move, from a team just coming off a nationalchampionship, with money not being the object. His name seemed to have some cachet' at the time, but he chose not to parlay that into a higher position at a less prominent program. Were promises made? I don't know.

2.) Miles' Modus Operandi is to keep it in the family unless he's forced to do otherwise.

3.) Not naming an OC right away gives Miles a chance to do more direct recruiting. He may want to be the closer on the last few high profile recruits we have on board. I put no credence in Gonzales' statement that he's not up for the position. I think it's a smokescreen.
