$1.50 fer the soda. The $13.00 could be if you get a specialty dog. Plus you should expect more than a little exaggeration on here.

To do it yourself look for Kosher dogs. You can't go wrong with Hebrew National or Nathan's Famous. Vienna Beef franks with natural casings are also very good.

For brats buy Johnsonville original and you'll be in good shape. But if you ever have the chance to buy them or any other sausage from Dietz and Watson out of Philly then don't pass it by.

Next time you're at the place ask them to fix you one Chicago style. That, my friend, is a real hotdog.

ETA: Just visited Frankie's web site and checked the menu. It looks good and I'll give the place a try. But Frankie doesn't know jack squat about how to build a Chicago style hotdog.

The funny thing is the owner is actually a vegetarian.

Where can you find these? I have been looking for hot dogs with casings since last summer--we went to visit family in Minnesota and they asked us if we wanted hot dogs with the skin on or off. I had never realized there was a difference, but the "skin-on" ones were really good.

So far I've had the Swamp Dawg (alligator) and the Huntin' Dawg (venison.)

Both were really good. The alligator was surprisingly really tender and the venison had incredible flavor. I'll definitely be back.

Are those hours correct? Has anyone actually been there late at night?

The website says:

LINK

From Facebook:

And, here's a link to a Reveille article about the place:

They just changed their hours to where they aren't going to be open late. I'm pretty sure the facebook hours are the right hours.
