You read all the crap on the net about the insulting offer from Les and the Loud Carr comments etc and you see why that team loses. They are just like Alabama was before Saban arrived. They deserve what they get and will continue to lose. Why would any top notch coach want to coach at Michigan? Simply garbage and arrogant. They live off the past. How many titles they have last 20 years? Top 5 finishes? My point exactly.

I know he won a title, but I don't get why Carr has so much power there.

They've gotten to the point where they think they can sit back and great coaches will flock to them ... Times have changed. If you want a great coach, you better go out, make him feel wanted, and get him.

The attitude of Michigan is much like the attitude Notre Dame had before Kelly.

If you don't lay out the red carpet for these great coaches and make them feel wanted, they aren't coming. You can't just sit back and say, "hey, we're Michigan, you'd be lucky to be the coach here."

I'm not necessarily saying they did this to Miles and Harbaugh, but it certainly seems like there is an overriding feel coming out of Michigan that "we're Michigan, the greatest university in the world, and everyone dreams to coach here", and hence the "Michigan man" talk.

It doesn't matter if you are Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State or whoever, if you want to reel in the big guns, you better go out and get them because they're not going to line up at your door as they would have in the 70s and 80s.

All traditional programs are like this. Just watch when Penn State replaces Paterno. An outsider doesn't have a chance in Hell of getting the job. The atmosphere doesn't change until the Good 'ole Boy network finally sinks the ship. This happened at Alabama and Nebraska. Hopefully Hoke works out for Michigan, but judging from afar, Carr has too much say.

Also a lot like LSU was in the dark decades during and after Cholly Mac's departure, esp. in the Dietzel/anti-Dietzel infighting. With respect to Michigan, I think they have some more rough days ahead, but if Hoke can hang on he might be able to help them get some balance.

Well I wouldn't call them garbage, but WTH's up with having to have a "Michigan Man". It's always gotta be a Michigan Man.... What's so different up there that it takes a "Michigan Man" to win football games.

We have 3 down years and we are garbage? It's amazing for a school thats such garbage, our coaching search, albeit a very disorganized one still managed to take the spotlight during not only the Sugar Bowl, but the National Championship game.

We may not have been winning national championships left and right, but the bottom line is for the past 40 years before 2008 we were winning. In 2006 we were one game away from playing in the national championship game. Won 8 Big 10 titles and 1 national championship. Not to mention that 40 year bowl streak. It's not being arrogant, or hanging onto history it's being proud of the accomplishments.

Trust me when I tell you, we are not happy with the way this thing was handled. Fans are fed up with Brandon, and didn't appreciate the way he was a dick during the entire process. Didn't like the swipes he took at the candidates, especially since two of them are so fond of Michigan. I also was not one of RR's biggest fans, but I didn't like the swipes he took at RR during the presser. I get that you guys don't like how Brandon acts like hes above everyone, but trust me, we don't like it either. I am offended that he thinks we are so stupid to believe that Hoke was the only candidate offered/ in the running. Fans wanted Harbaugh or Miles. We weren't listened to, theres nothing we can do about it. There is also nothing we can do about his attitude except hope that he decides sooner rather than later to begin that career in politics. We're not gonna take this out on Hoke though. It's not his fault how this thing was handled. The only thing we can do is stop buying tickets, donating money, etc. Most people love Michigan too much to do that though. Our donations give the players a chance to be a part of something special. Thats what it should be about rather than telling the good ole boys club to F off.

Stop being stupid dude!...Michigan is not all about football. Plus, I would imagine that their highest state employee is not the FOOTBALL COACH. With words you have used...it indicates you do not have much going on between your two ears.
