I've got the vibe he didn't care for it when a reporter used it while interviewing him.

He's done commercials for ESPN. You would think he would politely tell Reese Davis, who takes credit for the moniker, to stop using it.

Wrong. Watch him at the end of this past game against Florida. When Tracy Wolfson mentions "the mad hatter" he winces like he just heard nails on a chalkboard.

I have always had the utmost respect for Les Miles. I love it that he eats grass -- it is endearing. No one makes fun of baseball players for all their superstitious stuff. His players love and respect him. He is kind, courteous, and giving. He is an honorable and decent guy and does not deserve the venom that our jackass fans spew on him.

Exactly.

Fans who boo their own coaches or players are heathens. NO CLASS. Those people owe Miles and the players apologies. It's okay to criticize, but the way some of our fans express themselves is despicable. Some folks should have been stripped of their purple and gold. And to top it off, some of them actually said (in a Bubba voice, I'm sure), "I wasn't booing the players. I was booing the coaches" as if the players could tell the difference and as if the coaches give a damn about some bunch of Bubba fans.

Come to the Rant and "Bubba away", but don't do it at the games, especially on national tv, for crying out loud. Just turn in your season tickets and let some real fans buy them. There are plenty of them out there, thank goodness.

I know this will be lost on all the Bubbas out there because people without consciences and those who think this behavior makes them look like real men cannot comprehend the "right" thing. It's always harder to the right thing. That's what makes a real man or woman.

And, yes, I respect Les Miles. He handled himself damn fine through all the crap he was put through. I was disappointed in the coaching many times, this year, but I still respected him. I'd rather my child play for him than any coach in America.

I think he's accepted it, but doesn't like that it implies his plans are crazy and his wins are lucky. Take the 4th down reverse against Bama. It was obvious by everybody involved that talked about it afterward that it was something they practiced and hoped to use given the right situation.

So he didn't sent SVP an autographed shoe and hat? SVP, the biggest proponent if calling him the mad hatter...

If he doesn't like it why would he do that?
