RESPECT

He was never going to take the michigan job. He has been laughed at, ridiculed, made fun about how he eats grass, claps, talks and even the way he wears his hat (he does not like the "mad hatter" tag and has said as much)

I guarandamntee you, he is a man of respect. Someone that gives that much out certainly wants it in return.

being wanted by and in the spotlight with one of the best and most historic programs in college football means alot to him and all of us i imagine.

Some people still believes that no one wants him but us.

bullshite.

some truth to what you say. Throwing you a bone, cause you speak what is likely to be a part of his thinking.

who would think that would cause someone to make fun of him?

you could say the same thing about his clapping too. It is pretty damn funny, although he probably doesn't think so.

You made a great case for why Les wouldn't deserve any respect.

Well, I suspect--and hope--that the man has a burning desire to prove he can outcoach the guys who are presumed to be brighter than him. Saban, Cheswick, Spurrier, Mullens and Petrino are considered geniuses; Miles is considered a moron compared to them. I'm sure Les would give anything to change that perception, and nothing would work better than a 13-1 or 14-0 season.

Agreed. That would definitely be a welcome departure for Les.

I have always had the utmost respect for Les Miles. I love it that he eats grass -- it is endearing. No one makes fun of baseball players for all their superstitious stuff. His players love and respect him. He is kind, courteous, and giving. He is an honorable and decent guy and does not deserve the venom that our jackass fans spew on him.

Glad he stayed. Anyone know what he got other than some respect?

I am definitely TIRED of the dissrespect that LES MILES,..LSU head coach has received the last year....its bad enough that the dumbass media got away with it....BUT ALL THIS STUPID shite ON THIS BOARD BY ALL THE LITTLE DUMBASS'S...NEEDS TO GO...BASHING THE COACH'S DOES NOT MAKE LSU BETTER...Chicken, can you create a seperate BOARD just for the NEGTIGERS, and people that want to complain,...and think they are better coach's..???

This.... In spades. I'm proud of the way he always talks kindly and respectfully about other programs. Always makes time for the fans and supporters. Ladies and gentlemen, we could do a lot, lot worse. I'm proud he is our coach. Start watching some other ballgames during the year and watch these other coaches make blunders far worse than him without ANY commentary from the media. Be careful of the media folks, they like to pick and choose their kings and goats. It's LSU they will be laughing at when they help us run him off. Pay attention to the results he accomplishes instead of the ancillary goings on. That's what we are paying him for and that is what he is delivering. 15 points from playing for the title again this year. Pretty damn impressive.

This is true. Even though the "rules" say that badmouthing the coaches and players isn't allowed, it is not only tolerated, but even perpetuated by some of the people who are supposed to police such behavior. That is not cool.

Disagree. He even had a back and forth with SVP about it in jest.
