Again, I believe a theory like this. I cannot think of any other reason that the flying helmet is still on the ground. Either they are waiting to ferry Les home to AA, or they still have lawyers and reps on the ground finalizing the contract while Brandon heads up to prepare for the press conference.

K edit. if LSU has not come out and say anything then maybe I don't need to be pissed off just yet lol. Will wait before I crucify our athletic dept.

Word. I'm certainly not trying to squelch any speculation. As long as we all understand that's all it is.

Also, ESPN just said Miles and Michigan to meet tomorrow, and Miles will accept if offered. No new news

And they keep repeating this in video and print scroll over and over. "Sources close to LSU's Les Miles confirm UM to meet with Les Miles tommorrow (Tuesday)".

This is craaaaazy. Where is Bobby Hebert when you need him?

I think the part about speaking to the team is most important to Miles.

I thought people said that LSU is still in winter break and thus the team isn't on campus. Is that not the case?

If LSU doesn't have a team meeting then calls one for tomorrow. You got your answer

I don't think Brandon would show up in Baton Rouge without knowing whether Miles would accept or not. My guess is that Les had pretty much accepted and Brandon was there to finalize matters. It would be pretty embarrassing for Brandon to fly in, and walk away empty handed.

I feel like we're in the middle of a JFK-esque deal here.

miles is going to take the other michigan plane to dallas tomorrow after telling his team.. then head to ann arbor for the announcement. Lets call that michigans best case scenario ;)

this is what i just started a thread about that none of you assholes replied to! that is all too uncommon for a charter to sit around in a town like BR for no reason at all. that will ferry miles and company to AA tomorrow and be all over the news up there with his family deplaning from the flying helmet. book it boys

I think the biggest clue yet is that Brandon was in Baton Rouge. I think the only reason he would be here is to lock up a deal. No way he would come here, knowing the public would learn of his visit, then take off without his man. That would be an embarrassment.

Is it even possible to have a team meeting at LSU right now? I'm sure most of the players went home since school is out.

Why is it an embarrassment? You go after the best man for the job, and being there in person improves your chances of getting your man. Would it have been an embarrassment for Emmert and Bertman to come back from Michigan St without Saban back in 2000?

If the deal was already signed, sealed and delivered, what would the need be for Brandon to be in BR at all? Seems like the primary need to bring him in is to twist Les's arm.

Most of LSU's players likely went back home to be with their families as they didn't spend much time with them cause they were preparing for a bowl. I know A&Ms players were for sure, I talked to one of them in person tonight.

For Brandon to zoom down to BR, sounds like the final inking of a deal. He wouldn't go unless it was to finalize something. Willow Run is like 3 or 4 miles from me, very close to A2.
