...at a press conference to try to win over the entire LSU fanbase.

He should start by saying that he once thought being the HC at his alma mater was his dream job, but he has realized that he has his dream job.

He could say that the Michigan job was enticing because it was home, but "home is where the heart is" and his heart belongs in Louisiana.

And go on kissing arse and rallying the LSU faithful behind him for a championship run next year and seasons beyond that.

He is leveraging himself and may have realistic interest in UM. Not sure how this comes as a shock or why LSU fans would not see the business side of these decisions based on what Saban did. After that, my perspective changed. Surprised yours didn't.

And then if he loses to Oregon most of the people he had "won over" would be back on his arse. Nothing he can say will make LSU fans rational.

If the first thing he does is fire Crowton, bring in Malzahn or David Shaw as OC, and says he will quit meddling with the offense, he will being to win them over quickly.

Why would anyone think this is possible when we may have to pay 5M with incentives to keep him? He makes a lot of money at Auburn and would be coming off a SEC and NC. Why would you think he's attainable as an OC?

Both Miles and Michigan will better off if this does not happen. LSU? You will be fine.

My issue is that it sounds like Terry wants les to blow him for the privilege of remaining LSUs coach

This.

Some of the LSU fans owe him and his family apologies for acting like idiots at the games and elsewhere.

Exactly! And fwiw he's always talking about how he loves it here. His whole family loves it here. And if you pay attention you will see he's as sincere as anyone in the history of mankind when he makes these statement... at least IMO.

On the other hand I wouldn't blame him for not entertaining other offers considering the idiot fanbase LSU has. Surely LES knows he runs the risk of literally being hung over a branch any season he doesn't go undefeated.

This. If Miles stays, maybe we'll all shut up now and mature a little bit and appreciate the coach we have.

Still hope he gets rid of Crowton.

Oh just stfu.

If he stays that shows his allegiance one way or the other. He won't need to do anything else other than continuing to be the classy great coach he has been up to this point.

If he leaves, I have no ill will towards him. He went to Michigan and coached there for a long time. The siren song of the alma mater steals many a man's heart.

How about all you whiny biches finally get behind a guy that won 11 games with 2 head cases for QBs?

He does not have to kiss my arse. I just want to see him bring us back to Atlanta next year. 4 years is long enough. Winning a West Title would go a long way to winning people over.

Les needs to do right by his family and that's it.

We need to STFU and wait this out. We don't get a say here.

Les owes us as fans nothing as the winningest coach ever at lsu he can keep crowton and I'm happy with whatever he decides I'm just happy lsu is a place I would feel comfortable sending my son to play football because they do everything right on the most part and have a coach that is very respectful and who I truly believe cares about his athletes
