Mrs. Tigeratlaw wants to get a crawfish boiling pot for her Dad. She would like to know what size pot to get and whether it would be better to get a steel or aluminum pot.

I do the drinking, not the boiling, so I have no idea. I think when he uses it he would be cooking for 6-12 people on average.

Finally, any recommended places to buy such a pot in the BR or NOLA area?

Thanks

No need at all to spend the money on SS for boiling crawfish.

I'd go with a 100qt.

I have a 60 and usually my boils are for 5-6 people and I always find myself having to be boiling during the eating.

wally world has aluminium as well.Stay away from stainless, to much unnecessary expense PLUS it takes forever to boil because of heat conduction.

One thing I would recommended and it may be a little more expensive, but if you can get one go with an expanded metal strainer, instead of the one with the punched out holes. I find the expanded metal drains much faster and is somewhat flexible.
