Spector has always been an interesting player. During his recent slump, I was ready to write him off as the best of the American ManU failures (Kenny Cooper, Jovan Kirovski, John Thorrington, missing some others), with his Confederations Cup performance only a fluke. I'm not sure what to think at the moment.

Does anyone know what to make of it? He played pretty well against Sunderland starting alongside Scott Parker. He had one very impressive run that should have ended in a goal if it weren't for some very precise pressure from Anton Ferdinand. But his performance is fairly complicated. He has good size to play in the center, but he is slightly wiry. In addition, he seems to have trouble making a forward pass.

Though he seems quite adept at getting "stuck in," as it were.

As a post-script, can anyone find a clip of the West Ham-Tottenham game from August of 2009? I seem to remember a pretty nice through ball from Spector when he was playing left back, but I'd like to double check.

I do not trust Spector.

If he's a much better CM than Fullback, he's probably buried deeper in the Player pool.

The thing I've noticed most about Spector is his composure on the ball when he's pressured. There is none. I don't think he's as good as Johnny B at that position.

I am very interested in watching him play tomorrow against some of Man City's beasts in CMF.

That's about the only thing Bornstein is good at. If only we could combine their skill sets.

Yeah I'd have to agree, unless he continues his insane form at CM for the whole year and into next year.

I agree completely, at the same time, his composure since being moved to midfielder seems much better. Midfielder was his original position, and maybe he's more comfortable expressing himself there. I really don't know what to make of him.

An interesting point about Bornstein is that he also seems a capable midfielder, not international quality, but I never thought he was an international quality LB. I think the modern game has necessitated this, as having high energy wingbacks that can both support attacks and defend are a premium. Modern Wingbacks are the equivalent of the old B2B central midfielders.

It's also interesting to note that West Ham fans are already penciling in Spector as partner for Parker in midfield. I hope that is a small indication that he will continue to get games.
