ea_spartan - what would you think of Jay Roth bringing his smash mouth style to Burnside?

Who ever they pick, their first priority should be to get rid of those god awful uniforms.

where is he from (J.Dainiel), and who else has shown interest?

Maybe he wasn't getting his hair cut or drinking beer at the right place like the last coach the "powers that be" ran off.

Lambert did drink beer with the right people at first but then the right people started not to like him.

It's tough when you've always got people/coaches going behind your back.

They need a whole new staff, get rid of the rat's and clean shop.

Well then Daniel is the man for the job.

He can use his chainsaw to cut anything!

I'm not too familiar with the history on this guy. What is his background in coaching?

I see this conversation is taking on politcal overtones, what about evaluating his coaching skills. The way I see it his defenses were descent, but his refusal to use the pass in his offense made the team one dimensional and easy to defense against. I will say that it is a shame that the pro/college win mentality has made it to high school but thats the way it is. Also if you have behind the scene info about the last two coaches and there removals I would like to hear the stories.

He was the strength and conditioning coach at EA a few years back under Beasley. All the players loved him but he and Beasley didn't get along.

Now he's an insurance agent and coaches the Prairieville Broncos pee wee football team.

Had Lambert not been fired, EA likely would've had a chance at a winning season next year with the new redistricting. The last 4 years have been brutal, although EA shown they can play with them, just not beat them.

first off, Beasley should have never been fired, period. It's true he and Daniel werent the best of friends and thats basically why he left.

Daniel is a hell of a defensive coach, a fantastic S&C, and great motivator. He played favorites about as much as any coach ive ever seen, which is fine for a DC, but he would have to change that as HC. I like coach Daniel, if he can find someoen to run the offense, he would be a really good hire, imo. Someone like Jay Roth or Frank Monica would be better, but Daniel is still solid.

I wonder who's handling the search, and did they have someone in mind when they let the coach go? Does anyone think any of the other high school coach resignations tie in to the EA job?
