If youre still hoping for the National Championship Game, thats fine, but understand that if your various scenarios only partially play out, then we drop to Cotton or Capital One, possibly.
Why not just pull for Auburn to beat USC and , as long as we take care of business we're in the Sugar.
I love the Sugar Bowl and i would hope that most would rather that over any other alternative save for the NCG.
seems simple to me, but aparently im missing something that most of you understand.

I love "help me understand" threads. Second only to "Honest Question" threads.

My scenario involves TCU and Oregon losing. How does that hurt LSU?
Auburn probably stays above LSU if they lose to SC, so they aren't in "my scenario"

Its not about "hurting" LSU.
The path to the Sugar is obvious and simple.
the path to the NCG requires a great deal to happen and if it all doesnt play out perfectly, we are completely out of luck in terms of the BCS.
The Sugar is feasible and likely.

What happens if oregon st beats oregon? Auburn vs TCU for the title whether or not they lose in atlanta?

If Auburn loses in Atlanta and Oregon loses to the Beavers, it will be TCU vs the Big 10 Champ
no rules say you hafta be a conference champ, but you can rest assured LSU will not be in that game.
I'd love it if it happened, but just dont really think it will.

Unfortunately yes. With the voters now having 2/3 control it is extremely unlikely a non conference champ ever makes the big game again. Perfect example is 2006. OSU and UM were about equal but the voters would have no part of a rematch which helped Florida get into the title game fwiw.
