re: Rich Rod done at Michigan?

It's easy to think Harbaugh is a top choice, but he isn't on good terms with UM since his past statements on their academics when it came to Athletes.
Also, don't kid yourselves into thinking they'll hire Harbaugh purely cause of his potential. He has a bigger potential that is a warning flag for them. He wants to go to the NFL and likely will get a shot sooner rather than later.
A guy like Les is a respected Michigan man, and is not going to leave for the NFL. He's a better recruiter than Harbaugh (not necessarily a better x's and o's coach obviously) and has continually shown his love for Michigan.
People keep saying UM can't afford Les, but realize this. Assuming Les Miles' contract has been rolled over every time available, he's still only signed through 2014. He cannot get any more without a new contract or contract extension to work out between LSU and himself.
That means, he has $15 Million over 4 years. Rich Rod was given $15 Million over six years + $2.5 Million extra to pay his buyout at WVU. That means he's making basically $17.5 Million over 6 years.
Les could basically get the same money at UM as LSU if they give him that contract. They also won't have to pay RR's buyout because of the probation.
It's not as unreasonable as many of you think for Les to go to Michigan.

i seriously doubt that Harbaugh will be on the cheap considering how much in demand he appears to be in
Harbaugh considered to be next 49ers HC
Miles has to be in consideration - not saying he goes, but they will consider him

Harbaugh is going to the NFL after Stanford just like little brother not UM.

If they were smart they'll have someone locked up BEFORE they let RR go. Its not a good thing for any program to can someone and have a dead time as they search.
Some schools figured how to do it right...FSU and Wisconsin had a succession plan....it avoided having the bottom fall out.

Drizz, I've heard from tons of UM friends that they'd like Les. He's a good man and great coach in many of their eyes. Given the sleezeball that Rich Rod is, they're drooling over the prospect of a guy like Les that can recruit so well and is a stand up guy.

He's done. Even if he beats tOSU I think he is in his final moments at Michigan.

People probably know it, but tend to think those kinds of things blow over easily. This isn't Ole Miss or Auburn being told their academics aren't up to par for their athletes. It's freaking Michigan which is widely considered the best public university academically in the nation.

Agree, win or lose he's out. (UM does not like a cheat and he's been a DMW all year.)

they might try to woo Harbaugh
The Carolina Panthers are going to draft Luck and hire Harbaugh, book it.
Colorado is quietly trying to lure Miles but probably are too far away budget wise; UM has probably made it know that they would like another bite at the apple and DON'T be surprised when Miles' name is brought up with Dallas depending on how the next few games play out for them....
Having said that, LSU is in the best shape to keep him, though I wouldn’t blame him if he took the out and went on to UM or Colorado, I don’t think he’d be a good fit in BigD.
I hope LSU fans could figure out what a great Coach we have and show him the kind of loyalty and respect he has given us.

hes won 3-4 Big 10 games in Ann Arbor, Mike D'Antonio at MSU has 1 less win at Michigan since RR has been there.
I still think the guy runs a great offense regardless.

Regardless of the results of this one game, Michigan is bowl eligible /thread

Who do you think you guys are talking about? UM is not the Little Sisters of the Poor- they can afford anyone they want. Money is not a problem for Michigan.

I reported this first about a week ago... The Admin deleted my post, but Colin Cowherd reported that Rod was out per his sources who are boosters within the program. I guess they deleted my post because I mentioned that Les might be gone if this happens.

Given the sleezeball that Rich Rod is,
He never should have been hired to begin with...not Michigan coaching material, & instead of gradually changing to his type offense, does it overnight, and now they have back to back losing records, and a team this year that will make a minor bowl at best. Not much to talk about for a team that used to compete for Big 10 Championships and Rose Bowl berths. I still think Rich Rod's future is back to Tulane, this time as head coach...

I have to believe that Michigan's first choice would Harbaugh. Only question is whether an NFL team would go after him this year.

Money wise, Michigan can go head to head with any school in the country...I can't believe some people don't realize this...

I'd heard the Carolina Panthers is already interested in Harbaugh?
