Considering the hole we are in at QB right now and will be in the years to come, how bad would it be to have Chris Garrett on the team....

I mean in 2012, we would at least have a junior with 3 years in the system and no discipline/academic/off field issues

vs.

possibly another red shirt freshman thrown into the ring of fire of SEC competition.

What sort of indenture of servitude did we have with Garrett?

The short answer is no.

First of all, he wasn't let go. He decided to move on, don't get confused by the scholarship non-renewal bs.

He did not step up at LSU like many were hoping he would. FWIW, take a look at the time he is getting at NSU. Unfortunately, we're not missing out.

Why would Garrett leave on his own. He would be the presumptive starter in 12. He was kicked off the team.

Negative. He has gotten a bit of mop up duty.

It's pretty obvious why CG isn't with LSU anymore, whether he got politely shown the door or voluntarily took off on his own. Have you seen him play this year?

Coaching staff challenged him to step forward. He gained some weight and apparently didn't seem to rise to the occasion. He didn't get much time during the spring game and the Garrett's saw the writing on the wall.

Chris who?

Folks sitting in Rags Turpin Stadium watching NSU play are asking the same thing, so no...it wasn't a mistake at all. TC McCartney is probably a better 3rd string QB than Garrett would've been.

Naw, he's not playing well at NWSt at all. He wouldn't cut it in the SEC.

I thought he left of his own accord after he got a good sniff of where this LSU offense was headed...

Garrett was lazy, he expected everything to be handed to him. He was the third string at LSU and now he is the third string at NSU. He's also grossly overweight for a QB which shows his horrible work ethic. I go to NSU and I'm glad that he hasn't seen much PT.

He weighed in at NSU this summer at 251. Sounds like the staff may have been justified on this one.

a question that has to be asked was who was Garrett's primary recruiter? we didn't sniff that talent out well and/or we didn't coach it up.

too bad we didn't get darron thomas from oregon.

are you serious? he could not cut it at lsu so he was let go......look at his stats at a very small college.....horrible....he would never have played a down at lsu....our walk-ons are better.....bad evaluation i guess...
