TigerBait.com's posting the headline "Gary Crowton and running backs coach/recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson traveled to El Dorado, Kansas today to meet with top junior college quarterback Zach Mettenberger." Any one know anything about this?

No, but I certainly don't like Gary Crowton even mentioned in the same sentence with Mett.

ZM says...?

A - "Short-side option?!? I ain't runnin' that shite!"
B - "Wizard my arse..."
C - "I actually get the choice if being at LSU next as opposed to someone else in this room."

Well, at least Crowton would have someone to run the offense that was developed somewhere else. That seems to work well for him.

Crowton will not have a chance to screw with Mett's NFL career.

Would someone answer as to how Crowton can all of a sudden recruit? I thought he wasn't one of our coaches that was listed (obviously there is a maximum #) to recruit off campus.

Can anyone fill us in on GC recruiting all of a sudden?

win-win for LSU and Crowton (if he is here next year)

Crowton's offense works with a polished QB, he has no developing skills. He is merely a playcaller that with an already polished QB is hard to defend against.

Because he won't be coaching him next year

For the one billionth time, we didn't run "Crowton's offense" in 2007. 90% of the time, we ran the prostyle offense that we ran in 2006.

Crowton fully installed his offense in 2008.
