The bandwagon *had* to grow.

have some of you forgot the attendance in Arlington during a "normal" year for the Rangers? They have traditionally had about 15,000 core fans in the mid-cities while the rest of the area loses interest in August.

Everyone here knows I'm a lifer Rangers fan, but what I witnessed the Saints fan on this board do to people rooting for the Saints last year was awful. Even life long fans were verbally assaulted until they took the time to proove their fandom.

I say welcome aboard bandwaggoners. No need to spread the hate.

I STILL HATE the Rangers, but I am cheering for them vs. the Yankees.

The REAL test for me will be if Rangers vs. Giants is the WS matchup. Giants fans HATE me because of the Angels in 2002, so I might just cheer for the Rangers over the Giants just to piss off San Fran "fans".

the rangers deserve all the fans they are getting, they are playing a great series. as far as yankee fans leaving early, why would you want to contiue to watch that crap if you payed all that money and it was late at night? im a die hard yankee fan and i turned the game off after the 8th, base loaded one out and we get zero runs

amen. people dont understand that yankee fans expect them to win every game and when they dont theyre disgusted. and since 85 percent of the people that go to the game take the train in and the trains stop running around 1. you're kinda forced to leave early if you want to go home that night

One of my friends emailed me today, "Yankee fans don't like baseball, they like winning." I'm sorry, that mass exodus started long before the 8th inning. The place looked half empty in 7th. That's just pathetic fan support.

NOTE: Most real Yankee fans have been priced out of the game by the high prices at Yankee Stadium. Prices at the Stadium are grossly out of line with the rest of baseball. Such is the price of supporting a team that attempts to buy champiosnhips: it prices the regular Joe out of the game. I'd feel bad for them if they weren't Yankee fans, as they are getting kind of screwed by the deal.

I loved watching Cliff Lee pitch when he was in Seattle earlier this year, so I'm continuing to root for him. The fact that they are playing the Yankees makes it that much easier.

Meh, I'm not hopping on the bandwagon, I just made sure to tell the couple of Rangers fans on here I hope they win it all, same with Cinci.

This is the problem. It sucks, because its starting to become a problem in other sports too. Gillette Stadium (where the Patriots play) has started to turn into it. I have a couple of buddies that had to pony up for tickets, they could not longer tailgate where ever (it had to be in a very small zone) and their seats were incredibly high up. Most of the seats at the good levels are no longer seats, they're boxes. I understand money talks, but they are also sacrificing home field advantage.

You're really starting to piss me off just because the only time you notice rangers fan are when they play your team doesn't mean we haven't been here. Get your facts straight dumbass.

There have been a lot of Rangers fans who just stopped spending money on games over the years because they were so bad every year with no direction except the wrong direction. But if you look at Ranger attendance over all, they have drawn good crowds compared to many MLB teams even with really inept teams. So I don't blame fans for pouring out and jumping on. Part of is that people in DFW really like and support this ownership group especially Nolan Ryan and Chuck Greenberg as the face of the franchise. Doesn't hurt that Charlie Pride has a little piece. I have heard people say they are going to buy a cap or a shirt just because it is a way they can support the new ownership/franchise and help financially.

How can anyone hate the Rangers? What is to hate? It's not like they have been spoiling the success for other teams for decades or have one of the inflated pay rolls in pro sports that sucks up every big time player they need just because they can. It's not like you go to a Rangers game and worry about your safety if you wear the opposing teams colors. It's also not like you have a bunch of jerks playing for a team that is rude to fans or broadcasters and journalists. For the first time in the history of the team, there is a baseball ownership in place that is all about winning on the field and building a sustainable quality product. Sorry if that pisses off Angels fans that they probably will not be able to walk away with the division every year. But you could see after the last game of the season against the Angels even a class act like Mike Scioscia was sincerely congratulating Washington (I was there)and pulling for him before the playoffs started. What is to hate about the Rangers?

I am an ANGELS fan...therefore I HATE THE RANGERS! NOT to the same level that I hate that piece of shite team and fans across the Bay, but I do hate the Rangers.

this is so true, it's ridiculous...i had read that the pennantless Rangers should not even bother to play the Yankees and their 40 pennants.

i must admit, this season has been more fun to watch than any season i can remember in my life...I can't recall hearing more announcers referring to the players just meshing so well as a team, and "running around the bases like kids playing in a park" not to mention the incredible season that Hamilton is having and the Nolan Ryan ownership story...the pitching turn-around featuring Cliff Lee...teetering on bankruptcy and having the league cover their payroll...there are just too damn many reasons to pull for this team. So for now, I'm not calling anyone a front-runner (yet)

the Rangers are impacting youth baseball in Texas as most people don't even consider baseball this time of year. My boy is playing select ball right now, and there are a shitload of families joining us. With football continuing to produce case after case of deteriorated young athletes, i can't tell you how pleased i am to see major league baseball growing in Dallas.

Yankee Stadium is Tiger Stadium in 20 years when everyone is priced out.

Besides...I just missed the Arlington Stadium Era.

What a hellhole...

I did frequent Ranger games during Johnny Oates' tenure...good times. I remember when signing Mickey Tettleton was a big move.
