MissSTATE vs. FLA

this might belong on the SEC board.
with FLA going down to MSSTATE and with the way MSSTATE is playing what does that say about our wins against these teams?
does FLA losing hurt us and STATE winning help us? or would it have helped us more if STATE would have lost?
im having a hard time gauging how this affected us

From the nation's perspective it definitely hurt us. @ Florida in the swamp was our sig win so far. Just last week when showing the highlights they admitted Florida was down, but said that teams just dont go in the swamp and win. Then 7 days later MSU does it.

people are blowing this way out of proportion, ideally you want both teams to be successful from here on out so that both games go down as quality wins
Florida being in the east really helps because they will have the opportunity to defeat several opponents LSU does not face
however, in the long run it's probably best to have one of the two teams get 9-10 wins, really factors into strength of schedule with the computers

Probably will help State get bowl eligible. We'll have a huge number of bowl eligible teams on our schedule.

Miss. St. is ranked and in the BCS polls now.
LSU's win vs. MSU can be considered a good/important win.

Mississippi State win looks better by the week in my estimation.
This team lost to Auburn by 3.
Beat Florida in Gainesville.
And we beat them by 22 in a game that was never close.

Another loss by UF, which is highly likely, and we should be glad for the Miss St win.
I think both MS St and UF lose again and then neither win helps us.

Disagree. I've heard several talking heads speak about how great a job Coach Mullin has done, nearly beating Auburn and getting a victory in the swamp. Winning in the swamp is still big, and LSU is the team that broke their home streak and thoroughly whipped MSU. MSU simply replaced UF in the polls for the time being. Both wins are still big for the Tigers.

That conveniently no expert remembers.

I don't know if it hurts but it sure was funny to see the look on CUM's face.

I really don't understand how it hurts us. Mississippi State played auburn very close and beat Florida in the own backyard. We beat them but didn't blow them out. They aren't the old mississippi state team as far as we can see this season. They have played better as a team than Florida. I do not understand how them beating Florida hurts us.

South Carolina and Florida St. are the only teams left they could lose to.

What people are not seeing is that it doesn't matter one way or the other. LSU does not need help from anyone that we have beat. Beating AU is a billion times more important that who won win Florida and MSU played.
