People actually think that his goal is to answer their questions.

He isn't concerned with sharing the gameplan with you (or the other team). He doesn't really care if someone wants Shep to throw the ball, or Ford to play. He's there because he has to be. That's all.

Coach _____ used to give a pretty informative radio show and sounded like a smart guy while doing it.

nor should he. I don't understand why people are so stupid about this.

I find it funny that they actually call it a call in show. I listened for 15 minutes last night and if there wasn't a screen, filter, background check thing going on I'd be surprised as hell.

Who the frick compliments a coach for his gameplan after a win like that. Seriously...WTF.

Coach speak is awful. He's got to answer your question, but can't really give away any inside information. So you get a nice long show, where they talk about nothing.

Has anything of substance come from the show besides injury updates?

Slightly off topic, but does anyone notice that when miles gives the 2 question interview going into or coming out of halftime, he completely fails to answer the questions? Sometimes his answer isn't even on topic?

It's as if he's reciting talking points with no regard of what's asked?

I listened last night for the first time ever. About 20 minutes in I had enough. Nothing but compliments for the game plan and execution!

I was forced to listen to it for about 10 minutes. I quickly made arrangements for it to be moved to another room.

It's like he has some things he wants to say, and if noone asks him the specific question he's looking for, he'll just answer the question he wished they'd asked.

I wish someone would pull the ole switcheroo on them. "I'm calling in to talk about how well we did ... blah blah." And when they put them on the air, go all rantard. haha.

The Miles radio show is similar to how oppressive dictators control the media to portrait a postive view of themselves and the situation to the public

It was borderline insane. For 3.5 Mil, he should be subjected to some decent call ins.

The show is pretty worthless...do people really expect to get an honest, intelligent answer out of Miles?? Have they not learned anything yet??

Yeah, the sunshine and rainbows bit is useless. But sadly, it won't ever change.

He doesn't have to show his hand, but he could at least talk about the last game. We KNOW they play hard, and we KNOW we're 5-0. Give us some kind of substance:
what did LSU do for scheming?
how effective was it?
he can talk about how the other team reacted and how we adjusted.

And please... work on eliminating the Uhhs and Umms. A 3 to 1 Uh to word ratio is not a good ratio!

It's full of generic talk, a lot of 'want to's, and people with stories like:

Caller: "Coach, my dad drove through LSU back in 1958. He drove on Highland I think. He had a '41 Ford truck and we listened to the game on the radio in the living room. He never finished ninth grade but he loved LSU. He and my mom had intercourse one night and I was born nine months later. He showed me that '41 Ford. It was black and rode really rough. Not like these trucks nowadays. His dad, my grandad, worked at a store where Biff Jones and Bernie Moore used to come in. Coach, you know that track stadium is named after him."

Les: "I have a want to know that."

Caller: "My grandad said that Bernie Moore was a real nice guy. My grandad also said that ol Huey Long may have run off Coach Jones. Hell, I remember when coach Dietzel was there.... and Cholly Moc. I really thought Stovall would've done better. Coach, have you ever had a player named Nacho play for you?"

Les: "Not that I want to remember."

Caller: "I like nachos if they're made right. Coach, I thought you were great during Hurricane Katrina. My dad said that hurricane in '47 was purty bad. I rememeber Flossy and Audrey. It rained a whole mess a lot coach. I think you're doing a great job. Let's Geaux Tigers."
