Many of you probably heard that Kelvin Sheppard called for a "players only" meeting on Sunday.

We had 4 turnovers and far too many penalties against UT, and that has been seen numerous times this season- which smacks of discipline issues.

Could it be that the veteran players on this team- which Shepp is clearly a part of- have decided to take this matter into their own hands and get through to some of the younger guys, along with some of the vets who've made a few mistakes of their own?

Sometimes it takes a while for the players to "take ownership" of a team from a player leadership standpoint. Hey- maybe Shepp is the right man to do it, and it will make a difference.

Let it be so.

And play Lee 100% of the time.

It has been long overdue. LSU doesn't seem to pay a lot of attention to the small details. Coaches can talk about it and emphasize it in practice but when the players begin to take ownership and see it is a problem; usually things take a turn for the better.

They are at least a touchdown underdog. They did not move up in the polls. The are not getting respect. It has to be earned. It should be enough motivation for them this week.

I respect him for doing this, but it reminds me of how our HC is MIA, mentally.

It would be nice if our coaching staff helped them win games.

One of the coaches needs to hold a coaches only meeting.

I wonder if Lee spoke during the meeting and JJ went off into the corner to sulk like does during games.

He sure was unhappy(as you'd expect) in his post-game interview. Nice to see some leadership.

Maybe he said the fans suck and it's us and our coaches against the world inculding our fans!

Maybe he was inviting them to a pizza party on Monday.

It's all speculation at this point.

Players only meetings prove one thing for sure. There IS a problem.

i really wonder if Miles and Crowton sat out the next game what the result would be? not sure it could be much worse. I really think if our players were allowed to develop more responsibility on the field they could handle things a lot better during crunch-time. When your back-up center is one of the few people thinking about preventing history from repeating itself you have serious serious problems.

Maybe the players decided to come up with a scheme that will pipe in elevator music to the coaches' head sets when LSU has the ball and let T-Bob call the plays.
