No. He is telling the juveniles that boo at games to use better communications channels that are actually productive and don't hurt the team. You know, the methods people of intelligence actually use.

Dear Joe,
Unlike last week, I promise not to boo in Tiger Stadium. Mostly because I will not be there. However, if and when I make another trip to Tiger Stadium, my $50 ticket purchase gives me the right to cheer or boo anyone and everyone as I see fit. As a so-called Vice-Chancellor of an institution of higher learning, you should understand the concept of freedom of speech. But I doubt you do.
Evidently you'd rather have 92,000+ North Koreans in the stands. because they're not allowed to boo either.
Sincerely,
Chris R., '01
P.S. Go jump in the LSU lakes. When you have an LSU degree hanging on the wall, you can tell me how to act in Tiger Stadium. We were there long before you showed up, and we'll be there long after you're gone.

Was Joe Alleva the AD at Duke when the Duke Lacrosse team had their sex scandal?

Argue about it all you want, but the "booers" win...this thread, Alleva's letter, the national attention...and the more you argue, the more the "booers" win

I guess the thing Miles doesn't realize is if he inserts Lee, for more than 3 plays, he'll go from goat to hero. Doesn't matter what Lee does in the game.

Wanting to control people's natural emotions and reactions isn't like North Korea at all
BTW, Les Miles once shot a 75 under par

You can definitely tell the age and mentality of some posters, for sure.

Wow. care to tell me how else I should use the items I purchase?
Actually, I believe the AD just issued official instructions for how to behave inside the stadium. If you have a problem with that, take it up with him.

lol, are they going to start printing "no booing" on the back of tickets?

This. The administration finally understands that we are unhappy with the product on the field and the direction of the program. The more tehy respond, the more we will realize that we have finally gotten their attention.
If they really want the booing to stop, they will work on fixing the problem(s) instead of fixing the blame.

Go boo Rutgers. They have a crap team. We have higher standards at LSU.
Posted on 10/1/10 at 5:29 pm to RockChalkTiger
Yeah, I am pretty sure the booing finally got the attention of the administration. Stats or the unhappiness of boosters had nothing to do with it.

Yeah, Alleva didn't write an entire letter that addresses nothing but booing

Stop going to the games if you don't like the product.
Stop buying the merchandise.
Stop giving financially to TAF (if you do).
There are many other ways that have a more direct impact on the program than you yelling 'boo'
I agree. Those are all far more intelligent ways to voice your displeasure than getting drunk, making an arse of yourself and yelling boo.

Let's keep the momentum going.
What?
Listen here Joe...just wait till we go 4-4 to finish at 8-4 and the Gator Bowl and you will see some real momentum. And you won't have a peaceful night until you do something about it.

There will always be a certain percentage of the fan base that is just trash.

What's the over/under for how many plays it will take for the fans to boo Lee again???
We haven't even made it a full trip around the sun since the last time the fans booed the shite out of Lee.

I guess when attendance falls, he will put out a letter telling fans they need to attend, and when you buy a $200 plus ticket to see great athletes, kids with a possible NFL future if they were playing somewhere else, flop around and sqander their talent impart due to their leadership, you should have no emotion or opinion. This is a capitalist society (at least for now), and as bad as I hate it, college football is big business. $3 million salary is not middle class income, most who graduate college don't even come close. You are paid to produce, fans are your customers, no customers, no business, and then football would be like many other sports, not self sustaining and a burden on the schools budget. I do admit, it's a little early to pass judgement, esecially having such a successful body of work. But calling out a fan base is no different than the fans calling out the coaches. I understand the detriments of booing, and the detriments having top talent sitting idle, either way, how long does one think LSU will have top recruiting classes. Both parties need to help each other and stop pointing fingers. Booing is an effect, not a cause, I believe these are preemptive boos, and the cause is forseen. For 2+ seasons we have been in this spot, ranked highly and undefeated early winning ugly, then losing ugly. Fans see it coming, you can't blame them, when the boos stop, you better worry, after boos come empty seats. Settle it on the field please.
