Instead of the grown arse man making $500K a year to coach and develop him into a better QB? Or the knuckle head making $3.75 million that is supposed to be in charge of everything?

Maybe they are doing all they can and JJ is just not getting it. Could that be a possibility??

You need to watch a game rather then stir your hate pot for Miles. stfu ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconAngry.gif)

There comes a time when it dawns on you that the coaches are not the ones actually executing plays on the field. The athletes themselves play a somewhat important role in the overall success of the team. Pardon the sarcasm- but you get the point.
I do not care who your coaches are, or how much you are paying them. If the actual players do not play well enough to win, the results don't end up well.
This is not about "blaming" anyone. This is about what was obvious this past Saturday- even to those unfamiliar to our program.

Because he's not that good.

not sure how hard it is to develop decision making and accuracy, but it can't be easy.

but so far none of our qbs have improved from their freshmen year.
From what we have seen.

it amazes me how many times this subject is brought up. looks to me that you are giving JJ a pass and not holding him accountable for his results. fine last year, but it's time for him to step up. coaching is teaching; ya can't drill a hole in someones head and insert the knowledge. the student must learn. no way you can blame his performance on coaching; he stares down receivers virtually ALL THE TIME. think the coaches teach that? his passing accuracy is extremely inconsistent. coaches fault? the only fault i can see on the coaches is continueing to run the option, which jj has proved he can't execute it and to continue to run jj so many times a game when we have a surplus of fine rb's. when he gets hurt, jl better be ready. jl needs to play more for that reason alone.

Miles didn't go 8 for 26 and fumble 3 times or whatever the stats were.
Blame coaches for bad play calling, but Like said above, the player has to execute.

JJ is a good kid. I do not want to see him fail but I do not want his continued poor performance - average at the best of times - to deny this team a chance at the SEC championship and whatever follows.
It is not personal, it is about how you perform on the field. JJ has just not stepped up like he should given the playing time and opportunities he has been given. Time to give our next QB a try.

jimbeaux82, best post i've read on this subject.straightforward and simple. this is a football TEAM; the player that gives the TEAM the best shot of winning should be on the field.

LSU needs a QB that can get the ball in skill players hands, not an amazing athlete (though it would be nice) the years we won the title we had Mock and Flynn, not amazing QBs. we have the talent to compete with anyone we just need a QB that can THINK and manage a game.

blame both, really...coaches for lack of development, and JJ for not developing.

The LSU-Vandy game opened my eyes.
The rest of the team did well, if not excellent, and JJ was the only one (it seemed) that got worse.
He not only missed a receiver in the end zone, but under-threw him for an INT.
Pocket presence, body language that wreaks of frustration, inaccurate most of the time, inconsistent at best.
After the game, when a head coach says, "we need to evaluate the QB position", it means the coaches lack confidence in the QB. This could actually affect the play calling because the coaches might think, "we can only call certain plays".
If LSU had good QB play right now, I'd say they might be a legit top 10 team right now. Outside of Alabama, maybe Ohio State, I don't see any superior college football teams right now.
The defense looks good (barring the breakdown during the UNC game, but let's hope that's corrected).
So yes, give J Lee a shot. Or at least rotate the QBs. Do something different.
Edit: By the way, I'm not letting Miles and Crowton off the hook.
