Anyone have any experience, good or bad, on buying tickets outside Tiger Stadium on game day? I have always said I was going to try this but never had the nerve to do it. Can you get decent tickets for a fair price and what do you need to watch out for as far as scammers go? Thankx ahead!

Most of the time you can.

Sometimes you can get a cheap ticket.

I had season tickets for one year, but otherwise I have always (well, sometimes from friends) gotten my tickets outside of the stadium, and almost never pay over face value.

I have never NOT been able to get one.

I've done it that way for almost every game I've been to and have never had any problems. I've never paid more than face value and always get the number of tickets that I need.

Have been able to get a face value ticket for every game I've ever tried to do so for....Most I've ever paid was 80 in 07 for Florida.

I agree in that I have never not been able to get a ticket outside of the stadium. The closer you wait until kickoff the cheaper the tickets will be.

That was a nice deal for that ticket then. I got the ticket for free but I would have paid well over 80 to go.

Like I told my son, any ticket inside is better than being outside.

With the combination of using the ticket exchange and buying outside the stadium, i have onl paid over face value once... for last years Florida game. Just be patient... wait till closer to game time... and dont buy from a ticket scalper (the only people on bikes, holding signs, and not wearing LSU gear)

Another thing to keep in mind is for the less popular games, like mooo state, you shouldn't pay even close to face value for the tickets. I have had good seats to the tulane and la tech games given to me, and if its a crap SEC team, you can get them for 10 - 20 depending on where ya wanna sit. GOOD LUCK

Walk around in the crowd on the outside of the stadium - you will run into plenty of people selling tickets

I've only had to buy tickets from outside a couple of times. I usually have a couple of extras when I go, so I usually sell them. Always face value. Only time I had trouble was against Florida last year. I ended up getting free tickets from a friend in the end, though. If you can't find anything by kickoff for face value, just hang around the gates, you can usually get in pretty cheap at that point.

Also, every tailgate has somebody with extra tickets. I've found it's easy to deal with those guys.

Every game I go to I buy them outside the stadium. Depending on the opposition, you can usually get them around face value. Also depending on the opposition availability varies, but you should be able to get tickets to any game you want.

I know people selling tickets sometimes look for little kids with their parents to sell their ticket to. They are more flexible on the price too.

I buy tickets at the game as well. The only issue I have is, many people in the crowd with tickets tend to be complete DICKS. They try to mock cause that are fricking D bags, so be ready for that.

If your selling over face, the closer you get to stadium, you better be careful. Undercover operations are in place.

One game I lucked out and got 3 tix for $20... total, but that was a body bag game.
I've been able to get a bunch of tix right before kickoff. People realize they'll be stuck with the tix. So, they're willing to get something for them rather than nothing.

Try tix exchange first, then you'll just have to play the waiting game on gameday to get the price you're willing to live with.
