The UNC Offense???

Se weve heard about the UNC Defense. An incredible group to say the least.
You always, always, always hear coaches talking about winning and how it involves all three phases of the game (offense, defense, special teams).
UNC has zero for Offense and what do they have on Special Teams. If it really all boils down to all three phases of the game, then I look for LSU to win this game.

On the flip side of that, I have thought from the beginning that LSUs D would be the talk after the game... partly b/c UNC has 0 on offense.
We win 2 of the 3 phases IMO and we're right there with them on D. I think LSU wins... 17-6.

They have Greg Little and some running backs along with a terrible QB in TJ Yates. Their offense will be handled just like GT, 3-7 points at most.
Miles is saying that the defense is getting really agressive in the turnover area, so I'm looking for it to be a strength for us this year.

As long as Butch Davis continues to start TJ Yates, they'll be the middle of the road ACC team.
It is beyond me as to why he is the starter.
A RS Fresh backs him up, so needless to say, they have a pedestrian QB running that offense.

UNC defense is definitely good, but they benefit from being in the offensively weak ACC. Really, who did they play last year worth a damn?
Their offense is as bad as their defense is good. I honestly believe we will beat them pretty soundly.

LSU's offense was just as unproductive, I think JJ is better than Yates but completing useless passes doesn't matter. I think JJ stands a better chance of becoming a QB that can move the chains than Yates and believe LSU has better weapons on offense. If LSU can improve on offense, then NC has a chance to as well, but LSU has the better upside IMO.

If all you have to go on is last season and the spring game, we are a worse offense than they were.

I think LSU has the better upside, but you are right in that regard. People "dis" UNC's offense but LSU's wasn't any better. Who made the offseason adjustments will win.

Look at their competition.

meh, look at LSU's playing Tech, Vandy etc...didn't really matter who the competition was. It will come down to the offensive scheme, not talent.

Basically, what I've concluded over the past few weeks is that UNC has a great wideout in Greg Little, a quarterback with little to any talent, and a good running game. Patrick Peterson should handle Little like he does with all team's #1 wideout, which leaves a crappy quarterback without his top receiver. This leads to a ton of pressure being placed on their running game in order for them to move the ball down the field. LSU wins this by at least two touchdowns IF we can stop their running game. The fact that both our linebacker core and defensive line are undersized concerns me a little, but again, LSU should leave Atlanta with a win.

+1.
I know LSU's offense looked bad. But we have so much potential and so many weapons that its like lighting a match to find your way through the gun powder room. At any second we could blow the top off.
UNC offense is not only terrible, they have no one on offense to even give them hope.

I believe LSU wins, but it will be low scoring and close.

put 8 in the box and Peterson covers Little. Game Over.

Honestly with Peterson a virtual lockdown and if Mo Claiborne is as good as being advertised we are in for a treat on defense.
2 stellar CB really open up the blitz package. With our infusion of speed on the defensive side, coupled with the ability to leave our corners on an island, should definately allow us to put so much more pressure on the QB and allow us to put more men in the box.
More pressure = rushed passes = incompletes/interceptions/short yardage throws.
More men in the box should accomodate for our smaller size on defense (though smaller doesnt mean weaker)

If it is the UNC offense of the first 6 games, then zero is appropriate. We were down to 7 healthy scholarship OL, of which two were true frosh. Not so true once the OL got healthy and the frosh got their legs.
Who knows if they slide back or if they continue the move forward. Our understanding is snaps are being divided 50/50 between Yikes and Renner.

Without Little, UNC will be lucky to cross the 50 yard line.

Is he out for the game too?
