I'm not sure who will be under center to start the UNC game.
I'm not one the "Lee is a lost cause" guys by any stretch, but he will have to earn the starting job based on actual game performance, not in practice. It will be interesting to see if they mix it up a little this year and give Lee a few series.

Maybe with him on the side lines this year will help

Precisely. I don't care who you are. You have a negative play, and that is trouble for an offense if you can't stretch the field. (our problem this year)

Why would you run a short side option with a qb that has a gimp ankle?
because the ankle wouldn't hold up running the wide side option...

His offense is a big grab bag that makes zero sense to anyone. Including the players it seems.
He has 40 different formations, and one play that he runs out of each one, so opposing defenses already know what's coming.

Will Crowton be on the sidelines this year? IMHO, he should be.

That's what buddy said that he will be on sidelines { He has the low down in tiger town )

I dont know the answer to this.
I dont think many of us here are qualified to say where is best for an oc to be on field or box.
what you say smooth you played college ball?

Grab bag, huh? I could see where that can be derived if we can't look past a first option on a passing play. The offense is complex, on a three receiver set you could have up to twelve different routes based upon coverages. Three routes per receiver and either back or TE. If you don't have your crap together as a qb, your screwed.

Lee, I don't know. Gary always said he liked the booth more because he could see the field. However, we scored many more points with him on the sidelines. I think he has a better feel for the game from the field, even though he feels like he's at a disadvantage in line of sight.

Well calling plays from the box last year didn't seem to work out that well, and the year before that.
I really did feel bad for lee when he was throwing a pick 6 every game for 7 games in a row, and he couldn't talk to crowton.

And who gets paid a million dollars a year to call plays and coach?

one thing that hurt like hell last year was the "check with me" taking so long to call. JJ would get the call with less than 10 seconds on the play clock, then have to set the line and get the snap off. The D would shift and him and T-Bob had no clue what was about to happen.

That's the key. I would like to see him on the sideline because of the young qb's. I think it was a mistake to be in the box. He was functional at Tech when we had Martin at qb as a junior/senior. Gary then went to the sidelines when he became head coach and Tim Rattay took over as a sophomore. I think that helped Tim alot.
