So the time has come for me to buy a house. I was wondering if anyone knew any good lenders in the BR area and whats the deal on getting pre-approved or whatever its called?

I just loaned my daughter money at 0% interest to buy a house in BR. Do I count as a good lender?

LINK

Try the above link. I entered my specific numbers and was able to find out who was offering the best rate in town for my situation. You may find some internet banks listed, but it covers banks with local offices as well.

Don't go to Wells Fargo unless you want to pay .375 to .50 higher than what other banks can offer. Good Luck

Stay away from Whitney. They created a multitude of problems for my closing.

Just purchased a home in NOLA...Wells Fargo here had a competitive rate.

However, the mysterious underwriters made final approval and closing such a hassle that I will never use them again. Absolutely abysmal experience.
