Is pissing me off this year.

I've purchased 4 this year, all from Luling, Tx...yellow meat, black diamond, seedless red, stars n stripes.....all 4 have been let downs.

I don't really know why I'm so pissed off, but I am damnit.

If the Pecos cantaloupes are anything less than stellar this year, I don't know if I can be held accountable for my actions.

Let one drink a fifth of vodka overnight. That should make them better.

Probably...the only thing Luling has going for it is Buck-ees and City Market.

Heard some info on this today.
The best watermelons will be from mid-July thru August.
Strawberries have been terrific this year.
Also, Cantelope.

The farmers here in FL are selling seedless melons for a buck or less on the streets. The few I've got have been very good..

That's the plan for the weekend, though we used everclear in high school.

It was awesomely disgusting.

I got one about two weeks ago and it was awesome. I should have bought two.

I haven't seen any Sugartown watermelons this year yet. These are as good as the best.

Whole Foods has some awesome watermelon. Better than any grocer/stand I've found in the New Orleans area.

I love those yellow meat....usually can find them early in the season but for about the last 5 years I can't find them anywhere...black diamonds are always solid...sorry to hear your report...hold out for a washington parish mellon and you might save the summer yet.

Slice it with a good creole tomato salt and pepper.
