I think I saw him at the Exxon. He was smoking, which I found odd.

I'm not amazed by the stupidity of some on this board. JR busted his arse for us. Did he fulfill the dreams of many high school football washouts on this board be acheiving all that God gave him with his natural gifts for Ole LSU? Probably not. But, it constantly amazes me how one person be it a politician, football player, coach, preacher etc. can be worshipped by the masses and the same exact set of data be applied to someone else in the same occupation with strikingly different results. The results are only based on subjective reasoning at best but different outcomes occur.
Jealously, ignorance or just plain stupidity? I don't know but sitting there hoping for someone to go flat arse broke is really a waste of energy. I think most of you negative shite heads must sit next to me in Tiger Stadium.
Its his cash and he earned it -- you may not think so but smart arse educated guys mostly from Stunford or some Ivy league school get paid alot of cash to come up with contracts to make sure the owner (Mr. Davis) is only paying JR the minimum guaranteed cash necessary within several different constraints. In retrospect, did JR get paid alot for little production? Not even JR would argue that point. Was his guarantee mostly based on projected value? Yes. How about the shite head bond traders or some arse wipe investment banker who screws his Corp out of $100M in one year bonus based on some accrual bullshite and have his Corp's home country bail out the impacted investors if they happen to be unions with tax money? Oh, that only happens everyday and borders on criminal behavior if not certainly morally disgusting. This is the shite your kids and mine and now our grandkids will pay for. Don't give me the welfare BS -- we spend more on flying Senators and Congressman back/forth to their home districts to campaign for re-election (Oh, I mean hold town halls to stay in touch with their people) on a annual basis than many of the social safety programs that aggravate so many taxpayers.
JR acting less than intelligent from a long term perspective with his cash is like watching a train wreck. It hurts even more knowing he is a Tiger and really had enough cash to never run out even if he invested ultra conservative and spent about $30K per month on chillin. Sounds like that aint his plan of attack. But its his freakin cash and he didn't screw anyone to get it.
Also, you can't argue with JR trying to help spur the economy. Isn't this the basis for the Keynesian guys out there? shite his $20M after taxes pumped back into discretionary spend items would create about 200,000 jobs overseas...

Your right it's his cash, but you can't honestly say he earned it.

I'm sure you love this hatefest against JR. Isn't it nice to have so many others who hate the way you do. Has Conferate Tiger checked in yet? You guys should be proud.

Be careful they've got the rope, gasoline, rags and two by fours out. They are itching to do someone. It could be you.

I'm happy Jamarcus Russell chose to come to LSU and I'm happy he was our QB. The only thing I'm unhappy about is the fact that he had to share time his sophmore year with Marcus Randall who was not a starting SEC quaterback. JR was a clutch player that led many game winning drives for the Tigers while he was here and for that I'm proud. Seeing how I (along with probably 98% of ranters) don't know him personally, I could give two shits what he does off the field or with his own money.
Thanks for what you did for LSU Jamarcus!

For us? How much is your cut of that thirty-nine million?
JR, to his credit, did all the things necessary to pull off a scam and made it work. Hope he has some advisors to budget his money with the dexterity that Uncle Ray Ray managed his amateur career. He is set for life if he cares. However, if he manages his money the way he managed his NFL career it will last about as long.

I heard that JR was going to get his MBA and then become a financial advisor in Mobile...maybe I heard wrong

Jamarcus was without a doubt a freak of nature. I appreciate what he did here. That's where it ends. He doesn't support the university as stated numerous times in this thread. His allegiance lies with Alabama because that's where he's from. Aside from the 07 bcs title game, I don't think he has been back once to LSU. All that Bama gear he wears rubs LSU folks the wrong way and deservedly so. He looks and acts like a completely selfish prick and squandered all his god given talent because he was a lazy slob. He got by at LSU on his talents, not on his work ethic or leadership.
A lot of you guys forget that with every good play that was made he had some mind numbingly bad ones. Remember the forced passes that end up as int's all the time, the constant fumbles, and so on. In terms of complete players, I'll still rank Flynn and Mauck higher because they were leaders. Russel was never a leader. LSU offered a core of NFL WR's that helped Russel display his talents. No other school could offer that. That and his arm got him to the pros, and that's all that matters. In the pros he just never gave a shite and figured he could do the same stuff and get away with it. We all know how that turned out.
