Which professional sport is most complex? Considering all rules, strategy, technique, which sport is the hardest to fully understand all the ins and outs. I'm not talking about difficulty for yourself to play, only to fully understand everything about the sport.
Rank from most complex to simplest.
In no particular order:
Basketball
Football
Baseball
Hockey
NASCAR
Mixed Martial Arts
Boxing
Soccer

I think with strategy football would be the most complex, hardest to understand all the ins and outs would without question be baseball. Half the people reading this cant explain the infield fly rule.

Maybe soccer should be higher. Look at the confusion on the WC Board over a correct call the ref just made.

I would imagine that an outsider would have the hardest time understanding baseball. In a similar fashion to how I have literally no fricking clue what's going on in Cricket.

Professional football has more rules than any other sport. That fact alone makes it complex. It may not be the complex in terms of strategy or technique, but the rules make it difficult to understand. Put football at the top of the list.

Well, I'd say the strategy is definitely complex (when to go for it or not, pass/run, when to blitz, etc) and technique for individual positions are pretty difficult, too. That, in addition to the rules (only sport that can compare in difficulty to understand the rules is baseball) makes it most complex.
