Why are your possible scenarios all negative? Who's to say that had Miles left, the players would have still won the game that day, and won a national title.

If we're going to talk in "what if's" you have to include both sides, not just the worst case scenario.

I did that to see how many, if any, posters would come forward and say that they'd be willing to give up the NC in order to have the best available coach and an potentially brighter future.

If the option was both the best available coach and the national title, I'm guessing there'd be only a handful of posters who'd rather have Miles. Maybe you’re right and the alternative should be presented and see who would still want to retain Miles in that scenario.

However, going by the rules of the thread, I would not trade a NC for Miles departure in '07.
