I've had a Bunn for like 15 yrs. The water stays hot in a resevoir and flows over the grounds when a pot of cold water is poured in the top. Very fast pot of coffee (as in restaurants).

I had that one and some internal plastic part broke. Now the brewed coffee does not land in the thermos and instead brews directly onto the countertop and floor.

I'd say it was crap for a $100 coffee pot.

Coffee purists may not like it, but I love the Keurig that I bought last month. It won't do if you need a big pot that will be used all morning. But in the morning I can be out the door with a pretty good cup of coffee in less than three minutes and no cleanup. It works great for me and my wife.

Capresso makes some very good ones that even coffee purists think well of. I'm sipping on coffee that came out of one just now.

Technivorm also makes good stuff.

Also get a top grinder and only use distilled water, that and a good coffee maker will make anyone happy. But be prepared to spend 2-300 bucks.

Second the Cuisinart. Had a bunch of Krups that seemed to break after a year and had to be replaced. Cuisinart is going strong for almost 10 years.

Funny, I had the opposite, Cuisinart broke, seemed real cheap, after one year. Krups going strong after 9 years.

Just threw away another $90+ machine and I am done. 2 in 27 mos. Back to the $10/model at Walmart. I can throw that one away when it gets dirty.

I've had great luck with my Farberware for a long time...it couldn't have been much more than $40 or so.
