Nope no playing time for me. Walking on is one thing, pt a totally different story, it's possible tho. Colt started as a walk on, and Daniel graff who is makin big plays on special teams was a walk on.

Don't know how good you are (didn't read the thread, so maybe you said, but oh well), but there was a kid I played with in high school who didn't even start for us and is currently walking on at OSU (no clue how ) and will play in the Spring Game (and probably will get cut after that, but still ) so might as well go for it. Good luck.

yeah, i don't know where all this shite is coming from...people act like we don't have walk ons here or something. one of my best friends just finished his career at LSU, he was a walk on that dressed every game except for maybe a couple all 4 years.

Was Les there? Did he call any timeouts during your tryout to walk on.

Was there a tryout to get an application to get an interview to try out to walk on?

I like this quote. Why give the kid such a hard time? All he asked for was a little info. If he's not good enough, he'll figure it out on his own without any of the couch potatoes here telling him he's not. And if he is, well he'll get to do something most of you on here would give your left nut for. You can be realistic with him about what his chances are and what he needs to do without being asses about it. Just becuase you can't do it, doesn't mean he can't.

Kid, I had friends that signed SEC scholarships and a friend that walked on to FSU's squad in the early 2000's at Mickey Andrew's request. Its tough- you do have to be be pretty darned good to even walk on (even my friend who walked on to FSU had offers from some smaller D-1 schools like Rice and Fla Atlantic. Its gonna be tough as hell to make it and even if you do, chances are your primary job when you get there will be tackling dummy. But if your serious about it, just being on the team will be a once in a lifetime experience. Talk with players and coaches that have been at that level and get a training regimine from them. Find out, if you can, from previous players or coaches what Miles and his staff look for. Find out what's expected of a walk on. It'll be tough, but if you're serious, I wish you success. Good luck.

Every school has about thirty or so players (yes, some are even on scholarship) that don't dress for a game. Some are walkons, some are redshirters, some are guys who move up to a third or fourth spot (anf thus the dress list)becuase of injury. Rarely does the list of players that dress from game to game stay the same throughout the season. You don't notice it, because its usually third or fourth stringers that vie for the dress list, but it does change frequently for a variety of reasons throughout the season.

Hahahaha actually the last day they were on the other field practicing. The Kickers/punters came by us and screwed around until J-rob got pissed. They all came by after though including RS who tried to catch some punts from one of the current Walk on punters... I remember him dropping everything

Had a walkon named Rusty Brown when I was at LSU. He busted the wedge on kickoffs, guy would just throw his body in without regard for his well being. Made a name for himself.

Stick to your dream! There are going to be plenty of people to tell you that you are not good enough! If you are a decent player and can take a punishment from the starters, then you have a good chance IMO. I have known many players and coaches at LSU, and they respect a kid who keeps coming back for more. Get on their workout and start NOW! It will be very different from what you did in high school. Best of luck!

....the maxes out of LSU have typically been inflated. The simple fact that he is only 25 lbs off of the strongest player in NCAA history (Terry Long - sanctioned steriod user) should raise a flag, as does the video showing a max effort with the spotter performing a bent over row.

While I understand the difference in endurance versus power, anyone 1-repping 500+ BETTER be good for 30+ reps with 225. To this day, Moffitt's guys typically fall way short of this outside of Luke.

Don't let anyone ever tell you that you can't. Find out for yourself if your heart is in it.

If I remember correctly, Brett Bech was a walk on. He became a retty good receiver for LSU in the early 90's.

After LSU, nobody thought he was good enough to make it the NFL, so he walked on again. Played several years with the Saints.

So walk on and go for your dreams. Make it or not, you'll be happy you tried.
