Yeah, Wall was cut from his HS team his freshman year and transfered to a private school so he get an extra year and play again as a freshman. I guess he must have not been that impressive early on to get a lot of attention.

He was at a Raleigh public school, and apparently he had a lot of attitude problems.

As for Maravich or even Shaq, that was a long time ago. Things have changed so much in the past two decades, with guys like OJ Mayo and Taylor King verbaling after the 8th grade.

Ironically, Kentucky and UCLA never saw those guys.

While on the subject does anyone have any synopsis of the various South Louisiana AAU teams? Camps etc.?

I've seen a couple of the younger teams in the area and have seen several players that have AAU experience.

the heyward(sp)kid from butler didnt play aau ball...he played tennis instead during the summer
