I'll take Johnny Deangelo's on Coursey. It's New York style and now he focuses more on the pizza.

Pastime downtown. Thin, crispy crust, light on the sauce, all your toppings under the cheese.

I love how this
quote:

Best pizza in BR
has turned into another pissing match between two posters arguing about something that doesn't pertain to the original question.

For me, the best pizza in BR used to be at Portobello's. Sadly, they've taken it off their menu.

A lot of bitchiness in this thread.

My favorite pizza in BR...I'm pretty happy if I'm eating Fleur-di-lis, Mellow Mushroom, Johnny DeAngelo's, of Schlittz and Giggles. Dig em all.

Back to the OP and best pizza in BR.

quote:

how is the pizza at Gino's or Ruffino's?

I've had both. I love the around the world at Gino's and the pizza at Ruffino's is solid. But I would never consider them a place to get really good pizza.

Put my vote down for La Pizza Kitchen

Ditto.
Fresh homemade dough/marinara/pesto, many cheeses/ingredients - Great specialty pizza in a wood burning oven. BBQ pizza there is best in town.

Mellow - good normal pizza
Deangelos - Love it
Whole foods - Never had it.
Fleur di Lis - unique taste that isn't like other joints in BR. Cheap as it may be. I like it.

Bravo

This is the correct answer.

Fleur de Lis is wayyyy too inconsistent to be considered the best. It has been discussed on this board many, many times. Sometimes their pizzas are great; sometimes they are pitiful. Consistency is key, and it's hard to be considered "best" when customers can't rely on the product to be the same on each visit.

The Flatbread Roma (my personal favorite), as well as the pizzas at Bravo are excellent. Their other menu items may not be up to par, but their pizzas and flatbreads are spot-on.
