If you haven't been to practices on a regular basis to watch the offensive debacle play out, there's no way you would have Crowton shoulder the blame for the offense.

Starting 09 there was a want to not repeat the QB nightmare of 08. That was pretty easy to see and plays a major role in the O production for 09.

That said, Miles was starting his 4th yr at LSU and knew RP's off the field decision making process 1st hand. There was no good reason for us to start the 09 season w/o even one QB ever having taken a snap in live play.

The offense was not like this his first couple. They have been adding in new shite as the players grew into teh scheme of it. It has evolved into something that NO ONE knows whats going on!

That was our biggest problem this year and the fact that Jefferson held on to the ball way to long.

I think the biggest problem is that crowton is the most predictable OC in the country at this point.

If fans can figure out his "complicated" scheme, I know opposing coaches can.

While GC and the offense certainly had their share of bonehead moments and personnel/playcalling weaknesses, there were also plenty of instances where the plays called were very good and open and needed only a small window of success to maintain drives or score points.
How many times did JJ hit wide open receivers perfectly only to have them drop the ball? How many times did a rb fail to make yardage because he hit the wrong hole or a blocker failed to maintain their block? How many sacks can be attributed to receivers running lazy routes?

Faulty clock mgmt. cost us at least one game, maybe another one and almost another. The guy under center bears a lot of responsibility for that.

And as hard as it is for some to admit, the teams on the other side of the ball probably had a lot to do with how LSU played. Sometimes they just made the plays.

Crowton runs the offense he believes his QB can run.

I really don't expect to see a change in the LSU offense play calling if he is still calling the plays. Hopefully the players in the system will have learned it better and get some strength up on the O-Line.

If this is what happens then expect a new OC at minimum next season. If Crowton/Miles go in with the same tire offense and the same lack of immagination then they deserve what they get in terms of backlash from fans and administration.

Everyone seems that when he first started here we had such a great offense. The reality is that its the same offense we have now

That's the problem. Crowton has made very few adjustments to his offense. That means...
1. He has been figured out by opposing defensive coordinators. If we know what play is coming, so do they. Crowton doesn't run a typical pro style offense that's difficult to stop even when you know what's coming. He runs a crazy, million different formation type offense that, over the course of a few seasons, gives the play away based on formation and personel lined up.

2. Different players means he has to adjust his scheme a little. His scheme worked great in 07, but his refusal to make changes and adjust his scheme to the talent on hand is why he is sucking now. He wants to run plays that he wants to work regardless of how the players execute them. For example, Crowton must have something against fade routes. We did them once this season against Auburn and we scored a TD on both of them. I'm not counting the Ole Miss call because that was the worst time to call a fade route.

3. He doesn't know what to do when his plays don't work. He just keeps calling them.

If any of you were at practice on a regular basis, you would easily see that Les Miles has always been the problem.

So how many times are you going to say the same thing? Your counts up to 3 so far and you've been ignored till now.

yes bama may run only a set amount of plays and throw different plays in every now and then, but they also dont have a 1 formation 1 play kinda deal that says what they're doing when they line up. They also have the O-Line and have had experienced QB's to run these kinda offenses. We have not had this type of experience since 2007. Which has been my point from the start.

I even remember in the NC game we kept running some QB sweep or something like that and got stuffed everytime. I thought the "Wizard" Crowton was baiting THE Ohio St Buckeyes into something. Though in the end it was just stupidity to run the play so many times since we didnt do anything else out of it.

as soon as RS went in it was the WC. As soon as Trindon went in, it was the toss.

I Form – Tight end in motion to the left = 100% run to the left.

This one reminds me of Super Tecmo Bowl where you had 8 plays with 2-4 formations to choose from. The computer in 1990 was smart enough to have a pass and a run option with a formation with motion so it would keep the defense guessing. Some guys would choose to switch up the playbook and leave a play exposed with only one option. If I still played that game today, I would call those guys Gary Crowton.
