If Miles could possibly round out his staff with say:

OC
Todd Monken (Jags) (make assistant HC/OC/WR)
Steve Kragthorpe
Chuck Long

WR
Tyke Tolbert (Bills) (LSU guy)
David Kelly (UCF)

OL
Josh Henson (UM)
Pete Mangurian (Bucs) (LSU guy, also coaches TE's)

TE
Bernie Parmalee (Notre Dame)

I think it would be a homerun....

Ed Warinner from Kansas is my new coach of interest for OC. Dandy Don and Belowpar need to pass that name along to Les.

OL---- Truax from Stephen F. Austin would probably interview, I would guess, I think he interviewed when they went with Coach Studrawa.

If Crowton was going to be replaced, why is he out recruiting? Doesn't add up. The idea of Kragthorpe coming in as WR coach and "O coord. in waiting" sounds good, but if that were the plan why are talking to Tolbert?

crowton doesnt really recruit very much. He and stud are on the road recruiting because they are still getting paid to. If changes are made then that is that. Kragthorpe would not come in as OC in waiting, he would be the OC, changes may not be made until after the bowl game, but changes are a part of the game. belowpar is usually right so im going with what he says, if crowton and stud stay or the plans to get rid of them fall through then oh well. Miles may spin in that they found other jobs like last year, in which case it makes sense for them to be out recruiting if they havent found another job or miles doesnt want to make it public.

for o-line i think he interviewed both truax and miller. miller might have a better chance now with d-1 experience other than rice, plus he recruits texas. also miles talked to todd spencer from ga tech and chris scelfo

OK look, I think the Crowton hire was a great one at the time and I think the guy is a good offensive mind and over the long haul has done well here ... but some have pointed out his track record of gradually doing worse over a coaching tenure ... based upon the poor offensive output this yr, I would like to see a change at OC. If that happens, would LOVE to see Miles a young, innovative up and coming rising star that we wouldn't mind losing to a head coaching gig in the next 2-3 yrs.

A home run is those names withthe addition of a B coach instead of a TE coach. We desperately need a QB coach.

Mallory and Peveto were out recruiting last year before the bowl game, weren't they?

I like Tolbert for the WRs. And Kragthorpe at OC. I would also love Pitt's OC Cignetti. But he is a Pittsburgh guy. I don't know about OL. But those hires would be great.
