Is there anyone else who thinks its weak and evasive when Miles says LSU finished second in a football game with only two teams in the game?

We didnt finish 2nd to Ole Miss. We lost the game.

The language denies the reality.

Accept the reality and you can come to grips with it.

OC Gary Crowton LOST the Ole Miss game with two kinds of mistakes.

1. Pass on first down when two runs with a field goal wins the game.

2. Field goal team not ready.

LSU LOST. MILE LOST. OC CROWTON LOST.

NO ONE FINISHED SECOND IN A FOOTBALL GAME.

People finish 2nd in track, because there are 8 teams, 8 lanes.

When there are only two teams one wins and the other loses.

NO ONE COMES IN SECOND IN FOOTBALL.

Your thoughts on FINISHING 2nd?

How many years off your life are you losing worrying about shite like this?
Technically they did finish second, and second is technically losing... who gives a frick how someone puts it? If it makes a few people feel a little better good.

Life is too short to have people feeling miserable all the time... or acting like shits like some people...

I guess I'm just not as offended by euphemisms as you are.

I've got to hand it to ya though, just when I thought there were no further angles that Miles could be drummed for on here, you came thru. The Rant will never cease to amaze me.

I like trying to put a more positive spin on losses, and trying to find something to work on after wins. It keeps the team from getting too high or low.

If finishing second instead of losing is a way to keep a more positive frame of mind so be it.

Coaches don't like to use the words WIN or LOSE. That's the extent of it.

I think what is more disturbing is that Houston Nutt owns Miles

Agreed, Coaches will always paint it as positive as it can look because you never know when these kind of statements may sway a recruit your way. Parents of the player may really respect this as well, and anyone who thinks recruiting a player's parents along with the athlete isn't important doesn't understand the many things that go into recruiting.

It is kind of funny that Miles fricked up the end of the game and it occurred at the same time teams like the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots fricked up want seem to be solid wins.

He also accepted responsibilty and proved in the arkansas game that he will do what needs to be done to improve the team(great last drive to send to OT).

It's a true statistic, stupid but true. About as worthwhile as the lame arse stat so-and-so team won the last x out or y games.
