Remembered fondly as an actor.

Loathed and hated as a director. I'll never forgive him for Bridges of Madison County. Bastard.

Hopefully as an actor because he is a better actor than director. Not saying he is a bad director so don't get your panties in a wad but his presence in front of the camera is unbelievable. He is one bad motherfricker onscreen.

Hardly. Unforgiven. Outlaw Josey Wells. Everything since Mystic River. He will be more remembered as an actor but it is a legitimate discussion.

He'll be remembered for both. He's acted in just about every movie he's directed.

My favorite actor. Unforgiven, The Good, the Bad & the Ugly, and The Outlaw Josey Wales are all in my top 5.

Remembered more as an actor. But he's a damn good director, probably my fave right now.

He's remembered more for his acting in those western classics.

However, he is an OUTSTANDING director. If he's directing a movie, I'm watching it.

This is one of the top 3 westerns ever made and is the pinnacle of his acting and directing career IMHO.

I'll always remember him as an actor as he's my all-time favorite but he's starting to become a hell of a director!
