The problem is the violation still occurred and it will depend on whether LSU reported it the NCAA in a reasonable time. I don't know WHEN they found this out, but that will be the key.

I haven't seen this theory tossed out in this thread, and it's a pure guess on my part (i.e. this is not even a rumor).
What about the possibility of McCarthy going to Memphis with Porter? Could McCarthy have approached LSU players or his recruits about transferring to Memphis? I guess the timeline to that theory doesn't add up if y'all are saying this is season-old. Would that even be a legit problem? Or a possibility?
