Umm... seeing as this is something you evaluate at the end of the season or when you get close to a victory number, it makes sense.

Umm...fair enough. Just thought this was a cool & informative thread. (Guess I'm still pissed about last night when all those "fans" started leaving at the beginning of the 4th qtr...What else was going on in BR at that time?)

Plus, when the TV guys joked and were critical about the exodus of fans bailing so early out of Tiger Stadium, that's horrible. Can't wait until my family and I move out here permanently next year (from CA). No more red-eye, 2,000-mile flights to see the home games, and almost all road games. Granted, not everyone can do this, but if/when you can, you will have a want to do it, regardless how far away it is...

definitely impressive though.

Got that right!

A decade is a 10-year period. It doesn't have to be the 80's 90's, etc,,

According to just about every dictionary, you're wrong. There was a thread about this already with definitions if you don't believe me.

Grandmike, I am not sure if you know this but you have to include the "0" year in every decade. The confusion is do you include it at the start or end of said decade. Technically the "0" year is at the end. Can anyone find 0 AD?

Can you tell me when 1970 was part of the 60s? It isn't. Time starts at zero. It's the same reason a game clock goes down to zero instead of 1. A little common sense goes along way for those too ignorant to believe Webster's.

You celebrated the new millennium a year after the rest of us, didn't you...

Alabama with forfeited wins included and 2 12 win seasons the past 2 years only still has 77.

Bama always having to deal with that pesky asterisk.

AD/ BC scale is irrelevant. Before existence began, we were at time zero. We started from zero. The day you are born you are not a year old. Is it that hard to grasp.

Again, explain to me why game clock counts down to zero time, and you win.

No, because we are counting 10 seasons. The seasons obviously can carry over multiple calendar years.

I do get the humor you were going for though.

Nah a bowl win on Jan. 1 will count for this decade.

The AD scale starting at 1 is revelant to this problem because we are using the AD scale to count the years. Maybe I should put this in a more simple form. Do you start counting at zero or at number 1?

Are you arguing that the first year of the decade is 2001?

Technically you start at zero. You go from zero to one. Any other brilliant insights?

BTW, still noticed that you have yet to respond to why a game clock counts to zero. Or why dictionaries don't agree with you.
