I do find it funny that Reed is an awesome player when LSU has a shot, but when it shapes up to look like its AU, then all of the gurus come out the woodwork with reasons why he's not so strong after all. Not just with Reed but anyone who loses/doesn't have interest in LSU, then he must have some problems or issues.

Didn't say in this thread anyone was bashing him. Just putting him under a bit. Someone else mentioned bashing. I just think its kinda funny how all of a sudden Reed is not going to be missed a bit, is not tall enough, is a dime a dozen, when a few weeks ago it was a different story.
If he does committ to LSU, will be even funnier to revisit.

Link? I just wanna see some of these posts before now where people on this board were calling him a world beater.
And pretty much everyone who follows recruiting on here is saying he's going to Auburn for early playing time, nothing about any issues. It's like you enjoy reaching for a valid point and keep coming up short (avatar pun intended).

Landry has got to be a year or two younger, so he still has more time to grow. My point is you can't compare the two in size right now.

The general consensus has pretty much been whether we get Fobbs/Wright/Reed it makes no real difference. I'm pretty sure people were wondering why he was in the top-100.
Before the season people wanted him to get his 5th star, that died down when he didn't do much.

flask, landry is a big time talent. great hands and route runner but not exposive speed or quickness. reed is the opposite. depends on what you want but landry is better. I don't think landry will be the highest "rated" player in the 2011 class.

I have not seen this, but I agree if someone posted it then it is out of line.
Most of what I have seen posted on Reed is a good player that we want and can use, but not the end of the world if we lose him. There is not much seperation between he, Wright and Fobbs, depending on who you ask some prefer Wright. This has been the general opinion of Reed since last spring for the most part on this board.
As long as we hang on to Davis/Hunter and get one of the LA three we are fine.

Wrong, Landry has tremendous quickness which allows him to get great separation and get open so often. That and being very physical with DBs. The guy isnt a burner but is very quick. Reminds me alot of Josh Reed in that way. Probably a 4.5-4.6 guy but runs great routes, can cut on a dime and catch anything you throw his way.

although I don't want to lose reed, I think the timing is good for him to commit early so we can further secure Davis and get either fobbs or Wright.
I never thought we could get all three Davis, Hunter, reed with Randle on board and Landry next year. I don't understand what LSU coaches are doing thinking they could get 4 top end receivers.

We would certainly be fine, especially if we get Landry next year, and Shep moves to slot WR.
But that doesn't change the fact that he'll give Auburn the type of player they haven't had recently. And heck, the type of player we haven't had recently either.
And right now, we don't have Landry, and Shep hasn't moved to WR.
