Taking the kids to see Taylor Swift at the Cajundome tomorrow, coming from BR. What are some decent places to have a sit down meal close to the arena?

they have a great cuban place right by it, Cafe Habanna on bertrand. It gets my vote.

They also have a Deano's pizza down the street (same one that used to be right by the LSU campus) which may be good with the kids.

also, prayers sent re: Taylor Swift concert.

I've found myself at the Golden Wok buffet (523 Bertrand Dr...just down the "block" from the 'dome) many times before Icegators games. After making the drive across the swamp, usually with a limited amount of time, I'd just want to sit down and start eating right away, so the buffet lends itself nicely to those parameters. Snow crab legs, shrimp boil and ice cream bar should appeal to the kiddos.

Deano's will be packed
Baja Beach Grill is trashy

Try Pete's down Johnston. They have video games n shite so you're kids will have something to do. and the burgers are very good.

ETA: There's also Judice Inn, Serrano's, and Zea's right there on Johnston.

Cafe Habanna is not that good. They do a couple of things well but NOT worth the money, and your kids won't like it anyway. Deano's may be packed but it is what you are looking for. You can always go to BJ's Pizza, not nearly as good, quality, or clean as Deano's, it's on Congress two blocks past Cane's. Baja is crap and over priced. The WOW cafe is crap too but they have TVs at the table that entertain the kids. Service at both of these it pretty bad and they will be packed too since they are across the street from the parking lot. Golden Wok is just another run of the mill 'Chinese' buffet. Ground Patti on Johnston at Cajundome is good for kids as well and much cheaper than Baja or WoW. Like someone else already said Julien's (poboys) on University about tree blocks north of Congress isn't a bad choice either. If you choose Don's Seafood downtown just be aware it is a 'blue hair' haven, like eating in a library.

oh yeah, they have a new pizza place in the shopping center with Lafayette Lanes. I've eaten their pizza and it's pretty good. Never ate in their place though, always got delivery.
