Anyone who followed recruiting closely last year will remember Telfort. He was one of my favorite recruits last year and came close to being a part of our class, but ended up at USC. Well, apparently he has been forced to give up football because of a heart condition. Sucks. Just thought some would like to know.

That really sucks for him. I wonder if he will continue to go to USC or go elsewhere. I hope that it isn't life-threatening, and he can go on with his regular life outside of football.
Fortunately for him, he is a very good student and one of the guys who will be able to thrive without football.

They're going to allow him to stay on scholarship.

That sucks, feel bad for the guy. Still, it is good they caught this before a tragedy occurred. Hopefully, he can lead a long and healthy life.

Yeah, I think cases like this and Delvin Breaux's are what medical hardships are meant for.
I was just curious to see if he would consider going elsewhere. I know that my decision process would be totally different if I knew I wouldn't be playing D-1 football. USC is certainly a good school though.

It was pretty lucky it got caught. A lot of times stuff like this doesn't have symptoms until it's too late and is a pretty common cause of death in athletes

Really unfortunate, but glad they caught it. Wish him the best.

terrible...but Frankie has tremendous academics and aspirations off the field, so he'll make a good living doing something else
He probably lacked NFL size anyway....I hope the kid gets a great degree from SC and makes millions

That is really a shame because this kid had some great skills and athleticism. He was one guy, no matter if he had signed with us or another school, that I was looking forward to following over the next couple of years.
If I remember correctly, he wanted to be a pharmacist or something like that. Maybe this will lead to him turning his studies to cardiology to help others with this?
Glad they caught it early before something happened to the young man. Good luck to him and his studies.

This kid was a freak on the football field. I can only wish him the best in his endeavors. He had a bright future as a WLB.
