I'd give it to him just for the double in game one. If he didn't get that, we never would have made it to game 3.

FYI--it's an award for the entire CWS, not just the championship series. The award is titled the Most Outstanding Player. May change how voters think of it.

I thought it would be JMitch after the homer in the 1st.

Jared Mitchell was the announced MOP of the CWS Tournament. But I think you could debate that DJ deserved it as well.

stop watching baseball then

clutch does not account for a very poor performance at the plate in his other trips

he struck out bad and looked bad doing it on nearly every at bat during the championship series

FWIW, the general consensus amongst the fans I talked to during and after the game was that DJ was the most deserving of MVP

I'm glad for J Mitch, but either DJ or Mahtook should have won it. All three came up with some clutch hits, especially Mahtook.

I don't care...as long as he's wearing a Tigers jersey.

it looked like DJ got on base via walk/hit every single time. he also made a lot of great plays with the glove.

Ochinko will always stand out in my mind for how he swung the bat last night. Freaking amazing. 4 for 5 and an absolute A-bomb in the 9th to ice the cake.

And an F-bomb standing on first.

The amazing thing about that moment is the number of times ESPN showed it without consideration to what was being mouthed by Ochinko.

As for the most outstanding player I would have to go with DJ.

Gotta go with DJ as well. Hate to see him leave after only two years.

I thought Mahtook had the best overall series. Lemahieu had a couple of clutch hits and JM had the big bomb to get us started in the NC game but Mahtook came through with clutch hits and his glove work saved a couple of games for us.
When you combine his clutch hitting and game-saving plays in the field along with his emotional contribution, nobody comes close.

I guess all those strikeouts Mahtook had don't count as long as you have two big hits?

LeMahieu had the best performance of anyone. He had very few unproductive outs and was stellar on defense. Clutch is hitting a two out double with 2 outs in your last AB. He prevented us from getting swept.

I wouldn't be able to argue with either guy getting it. Both were outstanding

though I'm happy for Mitchell tearing it up after rantards insisting he be benched.
