30k Unsecured Loan

Is this even a remote possibility these days? For someone with good - very good credit. Purpose would be debt consolidation. Anyone know of a lender that may take a look at such a loan?

you can probably get a card with a 30k limit.

What about a HELOC?
Not enough equity, unfortunately.

I don't make that much and when the bank was running the numbers for my car note, she told me I had 10k unsecured available.

I don't normally recommending taking out a HELOC, but in your case, it could have worked as you could have gotten the money and had a tax deduction.
Your best bet is to try the local banks around town. Where do you bank at? The reason why I say local is because decisions are made here instead of New York. A relationship with a good local bank can do nothing but help.
Or you could try the credit card method, but I don't like fooling with credit cards.

Yep, the HELOC is definitely the ideal option, I agree. It just isn't in the cards right now. My aunt is the VP of a credit union in town. As much as I don't want to; I think I may call her and see if she can do something. I'm not really in a bind per se, but I think it would benefit me to consolidate.

I personally recommend Neighbors FCU, DOW FCU, KeyPoint FCU, Fidelity Bank and UCB.
Call around and ask, but make sure you are speaking to someone that can really help you. Or better yet, go in person.
