What separates the occasion from other college football venues? The reason I am asking is that UGA fans are bitching about having to play more night games to satisfy the new ESPN contract. Mark Richt doesn't like it and AD Damon Evans dosn't like it either. This is why I love and miss my home state. We have unique tastes.

Yeah it's that special. YOu have longer to get "ready" if it's a night game. Longer to tailgate.

Night games in Tiger Stadium just take on a whole different feel. You have to experience it to understand it.

Well...lately, nighttime in Tiger Stadium has meant playing Miss State in your top game, state universities/colleges, and Troy.

Also, CBS's high demand to show LSU at the primetime slot much of the last two years, as well as TAF corporate buy outs of tix has also made the special feeling go away. Hurricanes haven't helped matters, either. It's at least been since '07 Auburn since I have felt an inkling of it. I hope it returns.

It is unthinkable to me how any fans would prefer day games.

night games are awesome. day games suck. morning games suck worse.

Everybody always says it is a drinking thing but I think it is more because of the heat. It is much harder to get into games when it is hot as hell. The crowd is too busy fanning themselves instead of screaming when they are baking in 95 degree weather.

Four notes from the band and 90,000+ of your closest friends.

Nothing else like it.

It is right up there with your wedding day, or the birth of your first child.

Yea, it is special.

They are really special. But think about it. The better the program we have, the fewer night games we get because we are on TV during the day for the whole country to see.

It is, but I'm afraid the current administration of LSU is doing everything they can to make sure it isn't so.

Coming into 2009 LSU has won 21 of its last 22 night games.

Per Phil Steele.

I was six for my first night game in Tiger Stadium. Before that game I wasnt a big LSU fan, I thought my mom was nuts sitting on the couch upstairs screaming at the TV during games(shes an Alum), and I pretty much had no interest in college football.
However after that game and the magic expirenced that night even though it wasnt even that big of a game, I was hooked and have blead purple and gold ever since!

IMO yes (easy question).

Saw my first game against Texas A&M in '70 (20-18L).

Great atmospheres during day games are the exception as are poor atmospheres in night games.

Why so? I don't know but it is.
